Many words can describe what I experienced in a single night, though the words more suitable for this interpretation are painful, devastating, and traumatizing.
My name is Jacob Pines, I'm 19 years old and I work at a factory regulating pressure in the valves of a factory so steam doesn't overload the pipe systems.
There's nothing really special about me, I'm just a simple man who works on a daily basis for a city named "Skyfall"
But nothing could prepare me for the night of my life that would completely throw everything away as I know it.
I worked late one night, feeling tired as usual, I started heading home by foot. The streets were quiet like most days. The only thing I could hear was the wind blowing on the leaves. I live alone and don't usually go out very much unless it's for work. I travel by foot to my work and back because I live a couple of blocks away from the Factory. Thinking about it now, I was quite lucky to have found employment here at Skyfall. This is the most tech-advanced city in the whole province of "Kari" after all.
I hear that not even the Empress has this much funding on her kingdom. The quiet streets may be considered serene for others, but for some reason, they kinda creep me out a little.
The hospital in Skyfall is one of the tallest buildings in the city, I can even see it when I'm walking home. I have never been there for myself (Luckily) but I hear that most patients are treated very well and don't spend a lot of time there when minor injuries are involved. Never in my life did I think a matter of life and death would transpire in that hospital...for me at least.
I was almost to my apartment complex when I suddenly felt something pull my leg from behind. That caused me to trip and land face first in the ground. I blacked out upon hitting the ground, even though the pull was gentle and my fall wasn't that bad, I still somehow ended unconscious. And that still bothers me to this day.
What made me trip?
