“Oh god Rey, why did you drag me up here?” Protested Leila “Because I heard a noise..” Replied Rey quietly. She was worried as to what had been making the thumping keeping her awake at night. The attic was filled to the brim with spell books and amulets that there mother owned in her time. She was a powerful sorceress who worked closely with the then queen, Queen Siennna. However 3 years after giving birth to Leila she was accused of using a forbidden spell and sent to an island prison. She later died due to malnutrition leaving young Reyala to care for her baby sister, despite being only seven. This made there bond very strong. Because of this, Lelia knew anything that scared her sister was a worthy threat. “You’ll be able to ward it of, won’t you?” Leila asked. “Hopefully so, though magic isn’t my strong point.” Reyala said. Quickly, she noticed something at the end of the attic. It was under sheets but was bright and flashy. While everything else was dusty and old, never touched in years, this was activated. Reyala instantly knew it was the cause of the noise and told her sister to stay back while she investigated. She gripped the sheet and pulled it off. It reveled a small, gold circle with a ruby loged in the middle. The ruby was glowing and whispers came from it. “Aaaaghhh!” Squealed Reyala in surprise. “I.. it’s talking?!” Leila was huddled in a corner, scared. “Oh, sorry to scare you.” Said Rey, except, it wasn’t her. It was her shadow. It claimed the wall before stepping out of it, becoming a person, an all black, white eyed, scary person. “I’m Shadow. And you are..?” It asked. “I’m L.. Leila..” squeaked Leila, cowering in the corner. “Oh, cute name for a cute little wolf.. actually, you look lovely. Mind if I borrow your looks?” Cooed Shadow, Leila stayed silent. “Great. Thanks hon.” Shadow slipped down into the ground emerging as a shadow copy of Leila. “Hm, your not comfy AT ALL. I’m sticking to your... sister? She has the same nose I guess.” Shadow did that thing again and popped up as Rey. “I would take my own form, except I’m a shadow demon, so I can’t have one, I leech of other people. Hey, you look familiar. Like that ghastly woman Riki.” “Mother...” said Leila. “What do you know about our mother!” Asked Leila loudly. “Ughhh her? Yeah she’s the reason I’m here. ‘There to dangerous. We must lock them away!’ She was just a coward and a bi-“ Shadow stopped for a second and thought before proceeding “What happened to her? You look like you know nothing did she not tell you or..?” Rey and Leila rubbed against each other. Rey left out a heavy, grieving sigh. “She died..” Shadow was taken aback. “Oh. Well, I’m a villain I guess but I have feelings and. That’s harsh. I might hate her but sorry I guess. Now what’s changed it’s been YEARS!” Rey had an idea “Hmm, well show you. Personally. Well show you our town and everyone in it on one condition.” “Ohhhhh a tour, Blue-hair tell me more!” “You go back when we’re done.” Shadow was caught off guard. “Sorry, no can do.” “Why?” “I’m not that magic petty princes your gonna have to do it yourself but, I guess. Anything to come back out!” And so, Reyala searched for the correct spell book as Leila and Shadow went to get breakfast.
