A metis boy struggles to fit in his new school as he hides a traumatic past.

Troy Armand has always only wanted one thing. To become the type of person that is not bothered by words. If it's about his dead alcoholic dad or his mother who's dating his vice-principal, it never seems to stop. Even in the hockey rinks where he goes to escape the pain. He faces accusations about his character. It leads to trouble that ends up with him coming home with bruises on his face, he ends up spending multiple nights on the streets so he doesn't make his mom cry.

Meeting Melanie changes his life. Her willingness to learn about him and who he is; the side of him that people want to ignore, or those that choose not to 'see color. However, with an enemy on the rise and the backlash of being the 'minority on the team opening up new struggles that he has to overcome, it threatens to ruin the new life that he so desperately wanted. Their love quickly spirals downwards becoming a trial.
