In the beginning, there was nothing but darkness. Everything was peaceful, and calm; but mainly, it was boring. There was nothing to explore, nothing to be seen; and there was nothing to be remembered, nor forgotten. The void was just a void, and nothing else. No other ideas should come from such a simple thing like as this. Then, without warning, light began to appear, and a blast of colour came flying out of the nothingness, extending to every part of what is now known, as the universe.
Out of the colour and brightness, came the first god, Unin, god of the universe and the heavens. Others soon came, such as Jindian, god of Time, judgement and order; Henden, goddess of eternity; Reian, goddess of creation, love, and life; Charos, god of destruction, hate, and death; and Menhyn, goddess of morality and dreams. They travelled the cosmos, looking for something they didn’t what they were looking for. Many centuries had passed, and the universe endured. The gods, after having this time together, had many children.
Skarin, god of the sky, thunder, clouds, lighting, weather, and air; Ochose, god of the sea, rivers, tides, and water; Ninyah, goddess of virginity, family, fertility, and health; Perise, goddess of marriage, childbirth, empires, women, and kings; Darien, god of the underworld, dead sinners, riches, and fire; Farien, god of agriculture, plants, and the earth. These children would carry on their legacy through the year to follow, and even these children would have their own offspring.
Arion, god of forgery, masonry, sculpting, and blacksmiths; Callin, god of theatre, writing, and religion; Callie, goddess of the hunt, wilderness, and animals; Callis, god of communication, travel, trade, and thieves; Larken, god of war, battle strategy, violence, and weapons; Sarken, goddess of the arts, wisdom, knowledge, music, and loyalty. The family of the gods, all matured, and complete with their own talents and attributes, they finally found what they were looking for, and the journey of the three generations was over, and they could start their own world, finally finding a perfect space to create. With their combined talents, they created Milenia, a world of mountains and hills, and oceans and rivers.
The world was so beautiful, and was perfect in every way. So much so, that Charos, god of destruction, wanted it for himself. With his power, and his alone, he bound the gods to each other, chaining them in a large chamber beneath the surface of the world. This place was also known, as the Herun Ciroth, which in the tongue of the gods, meant ‘the Chamber of Chains. While chaos reigned, the gods made many attempts to escape, but did not prevail. For nearly two thousand years, Charos ruled as the high lord of Milenia, naming this age, the era of chaos.
For the first thousand years, the power of Charos concerned the gods greatly, especially since they were forever trapped beneath the surface of the world; especially Unin, god of the universe, whose brother had betrayed him and his siblings, children and grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. He was furious, so much so, that he and the other gods devised a plan to be rid of his rule. The gods would slumber another thousand years, to regain their strength, before creating fearsome warriors to be rid of the chaos.
As the years went by, the gods slept, only having nightmares of what would happen to the rest of the world, under Charos’ control. In their shared dreams, they could only see the king of Milenia, on his tall black stone throne, almost looking like a mountain range. All the while, red fog fills the air, poisoning the land with its darkness. Finally, after one thousand, nine hundred and fifty-one years of imprisonment, they had gathered enough strength to send their warriors.
They called upon the stars from beyond Milenia, in a different galaxy. From the sky, from clouds of smoke and fire, came eight meteorites, all landing in different places in on the planet. From these meteors, came the Enchanters, the great sorcerers and sorceresses who would be rid of Charos and his reign of terror on the lands. This was not easily achieved of course. Charos had created his own creatures to fight against the Enchanters, and without weapons or each other, they wouldn’t be able to defeat this army. That is why, with what was left of the gods’ strength, they gifted the Enchanters with the talents of magic, both granting them the power they would need, and gaining their own skills in the arts of magic.
There was Olmek of the South, sorcerer, creator of spells and writer of The Intherium (a book of enchantments); Erann of the West, sorceress, collector of books and knowledge; Lirid of the East, sorceress, protector of the wilderness; Gadien of the North, sorcerer, creator of epic and magical weapons and staffs; Xeren of the North East, sorcerer, creator of teleportation; Feren of the South West, sorceress, creator of divination and fortune telling; Donten of the North West, sorceress, creator of potions; and Osered of the South East, sorcerer, creator of necromancy. These eight beings would come together, in the land soon to be known as Rethomar, to face Charos.
The battle shook the oceans, and reshaped the mountains, destroying Charos’ throne in the process. The destruction of this throne symbolised the fall of the mighty god, and the destruction of all he had caused. Once he had been defeated, his soul was ripped from his large, and enflamed body, concealed in a purple bottle, containing a powerful enchantment to keep him from returning to his body.
Once this was complete, and all enemies from the battle had disappeared, the Enchanters now had a new mission. Freeing the gods would take much more effort than ever before, and after many attempts, they had finally created a gateway to the chamber, where they find the gods standing, being held up by their chains. The eight, with their unbelievable talents, freed the gods from the chamber, and presenting them with the soul of Charos. Everything, now right with the world again, there came a new age, introducing new creatures to the surface of the Milenia.
Human beings were created from the ashes from fire, the soil in the ground, the salt from the sea, and the dust from the wind. They were created to dominate the lands the gods had created, as they did not want to keep this land to themselves, and didn’t want the world to be empty. This created a new era, the era of rebirth. During this time, mankind flourished, and to make sure that there would be no other evils to destroy the world again, the soul of Charos was made into an aura, and was kept with the Enchanters for safe keeping.
It was never to see the light of day as long as the world was alive. As for the body of the once proud god, his body was locked away in the same chamber the gods were imprisoned in, where it would continue to cry acid tears, forming a great yellow lake.
However, because of how large the body of Charos was, the chamber would be expanded upon. This place would eventually become the Underworld, and would become the domain of Darien, god of Fire. There were great pillars holding up the ceiling, and the gods created creatures called demons, to be the servants of Darien, and also punish those who were evil in their lifetime. The world prospered, and everything was in balance with nature. Humans evolved to the point where they created kingdoms, and with every kingdom, came a king. There were a few eras that had a come and gone, and they came with their challenges and good tidings.
As the many years went by, the fifth era had come; the era of new dynasties. In this era, many dynasties were replaced by newer ones. In the year 5,993, a new warlord, going by the name of Rem-KaDex, began pillaging the lands with armies of goblins, trolls, and even the great fire-breathing dragons of the island Hym-Gond. During the tyranny of the warlord, Osered, the creator of necromancy had betrayed both the Enchanters and the gods by stealing the aura from the guard of the other sorcerers, as it was found to give the powers of healing and youth to the wielder.
Osered was to deliver this to Lord Rem-KaDex, so he would remain young, and have the power of healing when he was either seriously injured or ill. Whilst delivering such a dangerous thing, he came across the other Enchanters, and they fought with their magic, but they could not beat Osered. He had grown stronger, all because of the aura’s power. But with a flash, in the middle of striking one of the Enchanters, he had dropped the aura, and watched as the object, without warning, sank into the ground, almost as if it were melting.
With one quick flash, Osered with haste, disappeared into the darkened forest nearby. Years later, in the final year of this era, 6,004, the battle for freedom began, in the field of Gudrid, where Osered had dropped the aura years before. It was Okeanos Nephus, general for the Ormentius army, who killed the warlord, which made all followers of Rem-KaDex flee. After the battle was won. A few dwarves had decided to scout the remains of the enemy’s camp, and in a crater, a beautiful metal, unlike anything ever seen, shone brightly.
The dwarves, with their blacksmith instincts kicking in, took the metal from the ground, and brought it to the dwarf city of Garanov in Risolore, where the might throne of Charos had eroded away, forming the great mountains where the city lay. In time, with much patience, the dwarves created a beautiful necklace, and gifted it to the king of Ormentius, as he had led the army against Rem-KaDex… until of course, the king’s mysterious disappearance.
Urban legends began to brew, that the king had become younger in look, and that his image drove him to madness. As for his disappearance; while it is a strange thing for someone to disappear, most say that he was called to Risolore by. Non the less, another new era started, the sixth era of peace.
