About three to four hundred years ago, the world almost ended — and I'm not talking about monsters appearing from nowhere and ravaging the land like in fantasy novels, but rather at the hands of humans first. The monsters came after.

After various humans began developing strange abilities, the world was plunged into war once again, following years of bloodshed — with no definitive victor — the monsters attacked.

A massive tower was erected directly in the center of the planet, followed by smaller replicas in every major city around the world. The tower was both a boon and a curse to humanity, as it provided a way for those who awakened powers — the Enlightened, as we call them now — to grow stronger, becoming Ascenders. However, it also brought a flood of otherworldly races and monsters into our world.

After hundreds of years, the world has finally stabilized, with four main countries acting as the dominant global powers.

In this dangerous world, a lowly street rat who was lucky enough to achieve Enlightenment, Kalon is flung into a life of dread, danger, and suffering. This is the story of the rise from the shadows of the outskirts, to exploring the truth or the realms and world.
