After Isobel finds a book in the library of Price University, she begins to have lucid dreams of New Orleans in the past.

Eighteen-year-old Isobel Morrow looks forward to leaving behind her hellish high school experience and enroll in her dream college: NYU. But her plans soon are thwarted by her mother's sudden decision to leave New York behind and marry her college sweetheart, who happens to be one of the most distinguished professors at the prestigious Price University in Augustin, Louisiana. Isobel has no choice but to attend Price after she is rejected by NYU.

Studying at one of the most prestigious universities in the South could not be that bad. After all, tuition is free and she's pretty much a shoe-in.

She could not have been more wrong. Compared to Price, her high school is like paradise on earth. From strange sightings of ethereal figures to a strange mind-reading graduate student professor, Isobel has a hard time fitting into a place that makes her feel insignificant.

Isolated and increasingly lonely, she finds solace in the beautiful university library, where she finds an old, mysterious book.

But when she begins to have strange dreams of New Orleans in the past, a place she has never even been to, she is torn between her dreams and her reality.
