My names Kai and this is my best friend Luka, we've been friends since we were in diapers. we went to the same school all through high school, were always there for each other and I've kinda liked him for the past few years. I know you shouldn't date your best friend which is why I never told him how I felt, Until a few days ago when we went to a party and I got hammered. I kinda told him how I felt, and now we're here. I never knew this day would come, so we went to the park and he kinda confessed to me. I was so happy but nervous, now back to the story.

"will you be my boyfriend?" Luka asks grabbing one of Kai's hands.

Kai stands there speechless, "What?" He asks looking at Luka in shock.

"Is that a no?" Luka asks losing his grip on Kai's hand.

"Nononono, I'm just surprised. I never really thought you felt the same," Kai says grabbing onto Luka's hand tightly.

"So, you're saying yes?" Luka asks confused as he looks down at Kai.

"Yes, that's what I'm trying to say," Kai says still really nervous, Luka closes his eyes and leans in for a kiss. Kai backs up in surprise, he trips over his own foot and falls back. Luka pulls his hand back, catching Kai.

"S-sorry, I just thought-" Luka says grabbing Kai's waist helping him up.

"No its fine, I was just surprised. I'm new to all this," Kai says leaning into Luka's grasp.

"Same, I didn't wanna make you nervous. Did I mess up, cause I'm-" Luka says as Kai cuts him off.

"No, you're fine. I'm ok and really happy, I just don't know how to not be nervous," Kai says looking down, Luka opens his arms. Kai smiles and walks into the hug, he looks up at Luka and smiles.

"Is this ok?" Luka asks looking down at him, Kai shakes his head and then buries it into Luka's chest, "So, this means we're dating now," Luka says resting his chin on Kai's head.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing, were dating, were dating. How did this happen! I can't believe my ears, Luka is my...B-boyfriend.

"I guess so," Kai replies as they stand there silently.

"What now?" Luka asks hugging Kai tighter, Kai stands there thinking.

"Maybe, we can try kissing again," Kai says keeping his head in Luka's chest, Luka looks down at Kai.

"I need you to look at me first," Luka says smiling, Kai blushes and looks up at Luka. Luka leans down and touches his lips to Kai's, he slowly inserts his tongue. Kai holds back still nervous, he then slowly moves his. Kai touches his to the top of Luka's, Luka licks the bottom of his. Kai becomes more nervous and pulls away, Luka breaks from the kiss and looks at Kai.

"S-sorry," Kai says wiping his mouth, "I've never really kissed someone," He says blushing.

"Does that mean that was your-" Luka says.

"First kiss, yeah. Sorry if it was bad," Kai says as Luka rubs his back.

"No, it was good for a first time. I really enjoyed it, especially because it was with you," Luka says looking at his watch, "We should probably get going, it's getting kinda late. Do you need me to drive you home?" Luka asks hugging Kai once again.

"I would love a ride," Kai says hugging him back, Luka smiles as they begin walking. He reaches out his hand and grabs Kai's, Kai smiles as Luka squeezes his hand.

Back at the car...

"How is looking for colleges going?" Luka asks as he starts driving.

"It's good, I found a few that I really like. My mom and I are going to see a few, what about you?" Kai says watching the buildings pass out the window.

"I've found a couple, some more interested than others but I haven't really settled yet. My dad and I might go check out a few, but I have to take somethings into consideration before picking one," Luka says looking at Kai and smiling, Kai shakes his head in agreement.

“Are you planning on going to one nearby?” Kai asks tapping his fingers on his legs.

“Again it depends, I wanna try and go somewhere where I’ll know people and somewhere I will like. I wouldn’t go to school just because my friends are going but I would also wanna try and stay close to my family, you know for my siblings,” Luka says looking back at the road, Kai sits there thinking.

“I get it, I kinda want the same. Maybe we’ll go to schools close to each other,” Kai says as they pull in the driveway.

“That would be cool,” Luka says parking the car, “Well, here we are,” He says looking over at Kai then away.

“Do you wanna come in for a bit, my mom would probably wanna say hi,” Kai says unbuckling.

“I wouldn’t wanna keep you guys up,” Luka says grabbing the keys but keeping the car started.

“No, it’s fine. You don’t have too,” Kai says opening his door, Luka smiles and turns the car off.

“I guess I could come in for a little bit,” Luka says getting out of the car and following Kai inside.

“Mom, I’m home. Luka wanted to come say hi,” Kai says walking into the kitchen.

“Luka!! I haven’t seen you in forever, ugh I missed you,” Mom says hugging Luka tightly.

“I missed you too Mrs. Smith,” Luka says hugging her back.

“Like I said before, call me mom,” Mom says pinching his nose, “So what did you two do?” She asks walking over to the counter.

“We just went to the park and hung out… Like old times,” Kai says looking over at Luka and smiling.

“Sounds boring, you’re not little kids anymore. You should be out smoking or doing drugs, not going to some park. Also, don’t do drugs I was joking, maybe. Anyways, you shouldn’t waste your youth years sitting at a kids park, you should be having fun is what I’m trying to say,” Mom says sitting on the counter swinging her legs, Kai and Luka look at each other and laugh.

“Ok mom, we’ll try being more exciting next time,” Kai says as Luka walks more into the kitchen.

“Good, soo Luka. Have you found yourself a girlfriend or are you like Kai and can’t because you’re a big wuss,” Mom says elbowing Kai as she laughs, Kai shakes his head and smiles.

Luka looks over at Kai then back at Mom, “Nope, not yet. I haven’t really been looking for a girlfriend,” He says awkwardly laughing.

“What are you gay,” MOm says looking at him, Luka stands there awkwardly, “I’m just kidding, I’ve known you your whole life. You’ve only ever talked about girls,” Mom says wrapping her arm around Kai, “You know, Kai had the biggest crush on you when you guys were younger. It was funny seeing him like that,” She says messing up Kai’s hair.

“MOMM!! Stoooop,” Kai says blushing.

“What it’s not like you still have a crush on him, right? Cause if so then I just helped you,” Mom says laughing, Kai face palms and looks over at Luka. Luka blushes looking down at the floor.

“That’s funny, I-I never noticed it,” Luka says chuckling.

“Really!?! He always made it so obvious, I guess you were young. Kids never notice those things,” Mom says as she looks at Luka then at Kai, Mom shakes her head smiles, “You two are hopeless,” She whispers to Kai.

“Mommmm!” Kai says pushing her playfully, he starts blushing even more.

“What!?! I’m just saying,” Mom says looking at Luka, “Soo, Luka. Are you spending the night?” She asks nudging Kai.

“Uh, I was planning on going home-” Luka replies looking up at her.

“Oh come on, like old times. I mean you guys did go to the park, you should stay,” Mom says jumping off the counter.

“I guess I could stay-” Luka says.

“Great! I’ll make some snacks,” Mom says walking over to the pantry.

“Ok mom, we’ll be in my room I guess. Call us when the snacks are done,” Kai says walking to the hall, he grabs Luka’s hand as they hurry to his room. Mom looks at them out of the corner of her eye and smiles.

“So, I guess I’m staying over then,” Luka says sitting down on Kai’s bed.

“I guess so…” Kai says sitting next to him, Luka looks over at Kai and moves closer. Kai smiles and shakes his head, Luka smiles and moves even closer. He wraps his arm around Kai’s waist and blushes, Kai blushes and looks up at Luka. Luka smiles and goes in for a kiss, all of a sudden the door swings open.

“Luka!” The little girl yells jumping at Luka, Luka takes his arm back and catches her. Luka falls back a little, “Mama told me you were here,” She says hugging him.

“Ember get off of him, what are you doing in here,” Kai says getting a little jealous.

“Luka!!” says another little girl running into the room.

“Amber! Guys get out of here, we were doing something,” Kai says rolling his eyes, as Amber jumps on Luka.

“What were you doing?” Ember asks Hugging Luka as she looks over at Kai.

“We….We were playing a game,” Kai says blushing, the girls look at each other and smile.

“Can we play?” The girls ask looking at Luka with puppy eyes.

“It’s a... Big kid game, yeah, a big kid game,” Luka says looking over at Kai.

“Aww, fine. Mama said snacks are almost ready, Mako is also home tonight. You should say hi to him,” Amber says as they kiss his head and slide off his lap onto the floor, “Come out when you guys are done,” They say running out of the room.

Luka looks over at Kai and smiles, “I forgot how cute they are,” He says grabbing Kai’s waist again, Kai blushes and looks back up at him.

“They’re not that cute,” Kai says looking away, Luka kisses Kai’s cheek. Kai jumps a little, he looks back at him.

“Was that ok?” Luka asks pulling him closer a little bit.

“Yeah, but I kinda want to-” Kai says as Luka kisses him, Kai sits there with his eyes open for a second then closes them. Luka slowly slides his tongue into Kai’s mouth, Kai does it back and smiles in the kiss.

“Ewww,” the girls say looking through a crack in the door, Luka pulls away and they both look at the door. The girls bust in the door laughing, “Snacks!” They yell running around the room, Mako stands in the doorway watching the girls run around. They quickly run out the door screaming.

Mako stands there looking at Kai and Luka, “Come on, the girls wanna watch a movie,” He says walking out of the room.

Kai and Luka look at each other and stand up, walking out of the room, “Took you two long enough, the girls want you guys to watch a movie with them. It would be really helpful, I really need to get some work done around here before your father gets home on Friday,” Mom says looking at both of them.

“I’m fine with it,” Luka says looking over at Kai, Kai looks at both of them.

“I don’t mind either I guess, as long as they don’t bug us tonight,” Kai says with a smug face.

“I’ll make sure they won’t bug you, thank you both. I really appreciate it, make sure they go to bed early,” Mom says kissing Kai’s cheek and then Luka’s, Luka smiles and wraps his arm around Kai’s neck and they slowly head to the living room.
