Noah was an impressionable, meek lad of nineteen. His face had a childlike quality; his sandy curtained hair glistened in the sun.

A part of him wanted to leave, go back to the Riché Peresen Academy and pursue higher education.

His rumination was interrupted when the gate was swung open with considerable strength, leaving him startled.

From the other side of the gate came forth an alluring, slender, young lady with double-braided flaxen hair; she was clothed neatly in a two piece dress of white top and viridian skirt.

The spirited girl introduced herself as Vivian Fillie, one of the boarders at the boarding school. Noah wondered if she would be able to hold her own in a fight against Beasts, considering her amiable nature but reproached and reminded himself that he was in no position to judge as she might be a better Magus than he was.

Noah handed over his two suitcases to Vivian. Carrying the suitcases with observable ease, she guided him to his room. It was a rather long way from the gate; they crossed several well-maintained dorms and at each side of the route they traversed, an abundance of *Eirenai trees grew. Vivian was silent throughout their walk and Noah appreciated the silence as he was not in the mood for polite chit-chatting.

When they reached Noah’s room, Vivian returned his belongings and gave him a key. As Noah unlocked the door, he supposed that he wouldn’t be living with any roommate but retracted his assumption when he saw two beds; one at each end of the room.

‘I hope you like your room!’ Vivian remarked, ‘And after you’ve settled and made yourself comfortable, the dorm master has asked you to join us for a quick self-introduction at the dorm master’s room. Follow this map and you’ll find it without breaking a sweat.’

Noah kept the two suitcases in one corner of the room, deciding to unpack and arrange his belongings later.
