HORIZON 1;
Alexis: This is not happening. This is beyond reality.
The girl thought to herself as she remained still; locked inside this body. It felt like a virtual reality film where she could sense everything, have her nerves triggered, yet do nothing but experience it all. She tried to comprehend her current state, still stunned by the fact that she could feel every inch of her body. The breeze brushing against her skin. The sway of her arms. Her legs, moving in a steady walking rhythm.
Alexis: Holy crap. I’m actually walking!
As the body moved through the hallway, she scanned her surroundings.
Alexis: Okay. Breathe. Time to piece this puzzle together.
She couldn’t control the body, but she was determined to understand how she got here—and more importantly, why she was possessing someone else. The body took a left and entered a restroom. The women’s restroom. No one else was around as the body turned toward the sink and began to wash its face. Alexis felt the cold splash of water, the shock of it, the refreshing sting on her skin.
???: Hah… I need to stay awake…
The woman muttered, her head hanging low. Slowly, she raised her gaze to the mirror.
Alexis: This is it. The moment of truth. Either I’m high on meds or this is actually happening.
As her eyes lifted from the basin to the mirror, Alexis froze. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The face staring back at her…
Doctor Flovinne Hanson.
Her doctor. At the hospital.
Alexis: But Why? How did this happen?
More questions surged, each more overwhelming than the last. She felt herself losing grip of whatever reality this was—until a faint memory flickered in her mind. A memory that might explain everything.
