Welcome to (almost) the start of Black Mantis, a story about the slow journey to recovery, whatever path that might take.
You may recognize Emmett and Tab from Devour, another one of my comics. Black Mantis is an AU that grew so much in depth that now it's a story all on its own. Whether you're one of my current readers or completely new to my work, I hope that you'll enjoy this tale.

Emmett’s spent almost thirty years of life digging himself straight down to rock bottom, ruining his own modeling career and only accepting enough photography work to survive. The only comfort he still finds is drunk in the arms of a new stranger each night. That peace is upended when the latest guy sticks around after dawn, claiming he hired Emmett for a job the night before.
