Bobby Braw Fire and Ice

Strange Weather

Strange Weather

Mar 30, 2026

It was nothing more than a standard day in Fluvaria. Gray clouds dominated the skies, and the buildings kept standing where they always had been. The city was home to many people, most of whom were currently walking around the place. Four of these people were teenagers, renowned for their goodwill and nobility. Their names were Bobby, Narvy, Hannah and Rita. They had two other friends named Edward and Elsa. However, Edward was attending basketball practice, and Elsa had been spending the last seven months reflecting on her personal health. The four of them had just left Halmarn Museum and were now walking down the streets of Fluvaria without any plan.

"So, what do you guys want to do now?," asked Bobby. They were currently on Timayu Street, a place Hannah was very familiar with. This led to her getting an idea. "My house is on this street, want to hang out there?," she asked. Bobby, Narvy and Rita agreed with the idea and headed to their newfound destination.

For the next five minutes, the four of them walked down a long thin road, with sand and crashing waves on one side and cozy villas and greenery on the other. Eventually, they encountered a small white wooden house that directly faced the beach. "It's right there," claimed Hannah as she pointed towards it. The other Braw Agents had been to her house before, but it had been a while since that happened. The four of them walked to her house with Hannah being the one to unlock the door. "Take your shoes off before we go in," instructed Hannah as she took her sandals off.

Shortly after, the four of them went inside, abandoning their shoes at the doorstep. Hannah saw exactly what she expected, but the others didn't feel that way. The house had a modern feel to it and was home to a couple of recurring items. Books, plants, and beach related decorations. Despite the no footwear indoors rule, the house didn't have any carpet. Bobby, Narvy and Rita assumed they enforced it in order to make sure sand and saltwater wouldn't get in.

"Now that we're here, what should we do?" asked Narvy. "I'm not sure, do you have any ideas," replied Hannah. As of now, they were all standing in the kitchen, which shared a large room with the dining area and lounge. Bobby noticed a TV in the distance and gained an idea. "Let's watch a movie together," he suggested. "Great idea, what movie should we watch?" asked Hannah. "I don't know, we'll find something," replied Bobby. "I'll get something for us to eat," stated Hannah before walking to her pantry. Upon opening the door, she found various snacks and culinary items in the compartment. After a couple of seconds, she found a large bag of chips on the top shelf. "Want some of these?" she asked while holding the bag for everyone to see. "What flavour are they?" asked Rita. "Salt and Vinegar," claimed Hannah after reading the package. "Sounds good," replied Rita.

At that moment, Hannah grabbed four bowls and divided the chips into each of them. Bobby, Narvy, Hannah and Rita all approached the TV with one bowl each. Once everyone made it to the couch, Hannah grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. As of now, the station they activated was playing Oris. A movie about a thief trying to overthrow the Prince of his Kingdom. This was one of Rita's favourite films, so she could tell that the movie was fifteen minutes in when the TV was activated. For the next half hour, the movie played and everyone snacked on their chips. When they least expected it, the movie abruptly stopped and got replaced with something else.

"Breaking News, strange thermal activity has been detected in two parts of the world," stated a news reporter. Bobby, Narvy, Hannah and Rita decided to pay attention to the sudden article. "Over in The Sunlands, temperatures have been rising to all-time highs in unpredictable waves." "While that's going on, The Moonlands have been witnessing new lows in terms of their freezing temperatures." "To make matters weirder, both of these waves seem to be coming from isolated castle-like buildings." "According to satellite images, one of them is located in a deep crater in The Sunlands while the other is located on a tall mountain in The Moonlands." "Within the last couple of days, scientists have reported the heatwaves and cold snaps extending beyond the aforementioned places." "More on the story as it unfolds."

After the news report ended, The TV resumed playing Oris. Bobby didn't pay much attention to the rest of the movie; his mind was preoccupied by the weather situation. Once the end credits started to roll, he turned off the TV and began a discussion. "I know we just watched a movie, but do you guys have any thoughts about that weather thing," he asked. "It sounds interesting, I wonder what it's all about," replied Narvy. "I actually had a book about biomes," stated Hannah. "I remember it having pages about The Sunlands and Moonlands," she added. "You did?" asked Rita. "Yeah, I'll see if I still have it," replied Hannah as she got off the couch.

Upon leaving the lounge, she went to her room and began a search through her bookshelf. Through the many rows of novels and journals, not a single biome book could be found. Determined to find it, Hannah went to the storage cupboard and rummaged through the items in there. After moving some photo albums and board games out of the way, she miraculously found the very thing she desired. She put everything else back in the cupboard and came back to the others. "I found it," declared Hannah. "Should we read through it?" she asked. "Sure, let's do it right here," replied Narvy.

At that moment, Hannah sat back on the couch and opened the large book. She briefly looked at the contents page and headed to page 42. Once she turned to that page, she was greeted with pictures of the desert and some descriptions of The Sunlands. "It says here that The Sunlands is a sparsely inhabited biome, consisting mostly of desert," read Hannah. "The place gets its name from its twenty-four-hour cycle, which consists of long days and short nights all year round,". "It is also one of the hottest places on earth", she continued.

"Can I look through it?" asked Bobby. "Sure," replied Hannah as she passed the book to Bobby. He read The Sunlands information for a while before turning the page. Once he did that, he saw pictures of a tundra with information about The Moonlands. "Alright, it says that The Moonlands is a sparsely inhabited biome consisting of forests, mountains and plains," read Bobby. "Similarly to The Sunlands, it gets its name from its twenty-four-hour cycle, which consists of short days and long nights all year round,". "It is also one of the coldest places on earth, always shrouded in a thick layer of snow", he continued.

"Thanks for the book, it was very helpful," stated Bobby as he handed it back to Hannah. "You're welcome," replied Hannah. "While we're still together, I'd like to share a crazy idea I just thought of," announced Bobby. "What is it?" asked Hannah. "Since we're a crime fighting team, and we want to stop people from doing world shattering things." "I was thinking, perhaps we could go on a research trip, to The Sunlands and The Moonlands," explained Bobby with uncertainty. "That's insane," exclaimed Rita. "We don't know how to get to those places, they're both very far away and they both have extreme weather," she added. "Good points, but Narvy built that mobile base for us and he's got a telecoin," replied Bobby. "I think it would be good, since our last mission was seven months ago," he added. "Okay, I'm in," surrendered Rita.

"Do you know how we're going to do this trip?" asked Narvy. "How about we split into two smaller groups and have both groups go to a different biome," suggested Bobby. "Sounds good, but we only have one base," stated Rita. "That's fine, I can create another base if I find another vehicle," explained Narvy. "Who's going to drive the bases," asked Hannah. "We can ask Oliver and Beth to help us on this adventure," answered Bobby. "If they're not available, we can just use the bases as little houses," he added. "Who's going to be in each group?" asked Narvy. "I don't know," replied Bobby. "Where do you want to go?" he asked. "I want to go to The Moonlands," answered Narvy. "That's fine, I wanted to go to The Sunlands but you do you," replied Bobby. "Can I come with you?" asked Hannah. "Sure," replied Bobby. "Since we've already got two members in the desert group, I'll go to the tundra," announced Rita.

"Alright, everything's going well so far," stated Narvy. "What about Edward?" asked Rita. "I'll tell him about the trip the next time I see him, he can pick his group," answered Narvy. "And Elsa?" asked Rita. "I'll let her know we're going on this trip," explained Bobby. "If she wants to come, that will be great, but if she doesn't, that's fine too, let's not force her to come along," he added.

"When are we going on this trip?" asked Hannah. "We need time to buy some supplies, I think we should go two weeks from now," answered Bobby. "Sounds good," replied Narvy. "It's getting late, I should probably go home," explained Rita. Bobby and Narvy agreed with her statement. At that moment, the three of them got off Hannah's couch and walked to the front door. "Bye Hannah," said Bobby, Narvy and Rita simultaneously. "Bye guys," she replied. Once her friends left the house, Hannah remained on the couch, waiting for her parents to come home. She didn't know how to spend the rest of her day, but she knew how to spend the next two weeks.
