Even in the southwest, the return of fall is noticeable, albeit rather subtle.
The days are no longer overbearingly hot.
The nights begin to take on a chill.
Noches Frescos is what we call them here at home.
Let's not wrong the sudden shift of color schemes at the stores.
From bright summery blues and greens
Somber oranges, yellows, reds, and brown crop up overnight.
Halloween creeps in, Dia de los Muertos & Dia de los Santos preparations begins.
From werewolves, vampires, and token sexy costumes
All the way to the ofrendas being set up.
Along with Los noches frescos the past returns, even if they are just memories.
Though some nights, the chill bites a little more fiercely and even in the comfort of ones home, the feeling of being watched doesn't go away.
Let's light some candles, and slip into something comfy as the scary stories begin to flow.
