Here are the members of the poaching pirate crew, ID name: Anchor What.
Cappy: The team leader. He is sort of a big deal, having a stupid-high rank at such a young age, mainly due to him being an immortal. I mean, you can kill him, but it’s really, really hard and annoying to do so.
Kasumi: An aspiring ninja who sought Cappy out with all the rumors and legends about what he and his crew have accomplished. People constantly mistake her for a dude. I bet you did, too.
Santa: An odd old fellow who has been with Cappy since the beginning. He may be the real Santa Claus…if you only believe!
Ambrosia: She likes going by the name Amby. She was freed by Cappy and joined the cause. She wears a ribbon around her left arm to hide a giant tattoo that marked her as a slave.
Jack: He is orange and full of grump. He was an assassin tasked with taking Cappy out, but found it more prosperous to join the cause.
Lilly: A princess in hiding.
Lenny: A golem that was commanded to destroy Lilly’s kingdom. Lilly was the only one he couldn’t bring himself to end, and joined Cappy for extra security.
Midori: Cappy’s honorary sister. She was freed from slavery along with Amby, and takes “ninja lessons” from Kasumi and “quick kill” lessons from Jack.
Hey kids, you wanna read a comic about human trafficking?!
Yeah, that’s what I thought. Teen me was VERY altruistic, and I had an idea for a story that dealt with a podunk future where half the world benefitted from slavery and the other half loved circumventing such business practices. Enter the Cappy Crew: a band of poaching pirates that travel around and disrupt dirty dealings. I thought it would be an interesting concept to deal with a real world problem, but also show off that those who challenge the slave trading business have made their own morbid business model; poaching pirates earn experience points and move up ranks by freeing slaves, and there are elite classes within the hero ranks that blur the lines between helping and harboring.
I hope you enjoy the beginning building blocks of this world I started!
