In the middle of the day, the skies are bright and clear, with the sun soon to set and the moon rising. One girl is going through the island of Ocean Bay at high-flying speeds. Her training module device located on her left side is making noise and keeping track of her progress; she’s training. This girl has been training almost every day since she was born, a habit she first started to hate.
She travels more through the island, with explosion-like sights and sounds following suit. The wind drastically changing each direction with every wave of light passing through, and she stops for a quick second to catch her breath and wipe away sweat on her forehead, she’s getting tired.
“Wow, this is getting easier. I need something more tough.” the girl huffed. The girl runs her hands through her spiky blue hair, shakes her head, and rubs her feet through the grassy-concrete road. She looks ecstatic, taking a spin before flying once again, making sure to increase her speed with each passing second, more explosions to follow suit.
Before she knew it, her home was right there, with her father standing impatiently in the front door. “Chase, you’re late. We needed to be at the dinner 10 minutes ago.” her father fiercely said. “Sorry, had to get in one more training session before we go!” Chase responded, tiredness in her voice.
Her father sighs, with worry in his mind that the training he enlisted onto Chase has her addicted. He then throws her a blue backpack.
She catches it with her Psychokinesis, twirling it around her and checks inside to find her aqua dress, filled to the brim with sparkles. This would lower her mood, as Chase wasn’t the type to be all fancy, rather she likes to be active, and she knew she could not be like that in a fancy dress sitting down, eating fancy food and high-class drinks. Not to mention the high heels making her feet uncomfortable despite Chase tending to float above ground.
“Father, do we really have to go? Why do I have to be there?” Chase pondered, as she ran inside the house to change.
“We need to gather more funding for the island, and you not being with us would be a bad look. No united family means no money. No money means the island won’t improve.” he implored.
They both walked to the main road, strolling on the side for about ten minutes before finally reaching the Grand Hall. The front entrance was crowded all the way to the core of the inside, people dressed in fancy silks and glistening jewelry.
The sight of this did not sit well with Chase, as she felt it too flamboyant and high-class for her tastes, but she did think about how she and her family lived in one of the biggest houses on Ocean Bay, so she revoked her thoughts.
Finding their seat, Chase and her father sat down and were greeted by the waiters, taking their orders and giving them utensils. Before getting the chance to adjust the towel on his lap, Chase’s father felt a warm hand on his shoulder.
“C! It’s always a pleasure to see you, how are you doing this fine afternoon? Where’s your lovely wife?” The man profoundly asked, sporting a grin. Chase looked up at the man and had a feeling she was going to listen to a lengthy conversation and stepped away, not wanting to fall asleep to pure boredom. As she was walking towards the concession stand, she bumped into her mother.
“Mom!”
Chase hugged her mom with a big smile on her face, with her returning the embrace.
“How was the trip? Did you kick some serious butt?” Chase gushed as she jumped up and down.
Before getting the chance to explain what her trip was like, a huge explosion was heard outside of the Grand Hall, with the windows lighting up. Guests in the hall go into a panic, running to the back of the hall and trying to get in the safety rooms. Chase and her parents would take this opportunity to go outside and investigate what happened.
“Chase, get back inside and calm everyone down. Me and your mother will check it out.” C voiced out to his daughter. Seeming concerned about the explosion, Chase felt annoyed since she couldn’t go with her parents but agreed to go back inside, nonetheless. From there, she took her time in calming the guests, making sure to use her Psychokinesis in creating a show and getting people’s mind off the explosion. This took an hour, and Chase was getting worried, so she took this opportunity to sneak out, but there was only silence and bright lights. Chase needed to be quick and find her parents.
