In this episode we meet Niberyn, the young daughter of a daanis and a human being, who suffers the consequences of being born half-breed in a place where daanis are protected and revered, while others see them as an inminent threat for peace and equality.
Can humanity live by the rules of pacifism,
or will the fear of power destroy any goodwill?
The Children of the Sand is a fantasy-teslapunk
comic set in a universe based on the culture
of ancient Mesopotamia.
If you're familiar with sagas like
Game of Thrones and X-Men, you'll feel
at home with the moments of discovery,
injustice, journey and intrigues that each
character is about to face.
The story revolves around the city of Güldor Jer,
where its society is dealing with the advent of
powerful beings with the mission of teaching
humanity how to use their knowledge
for good. These are the daanis, and the
comic starts with Niberyn, a little
half-breed girl, mix of daanis and human, who
doesn't understand nor accept her place in
the world; at least, not as the daanis intend it
to be.
The story of Niberyn is just one side of the
great saga of The Children of the Sand, a story
which is already written all the way to the
ending, and one that Vania Boidanich (Illustration)
and I, Marco Augusto Ferreira (Writer),
are intending to see drawn to the end.
