Imagine a world where magic is a normal part of our lives. At least for some people. How would it work? Will it help people move forward or they will stay in one era because magic is just convenient. That might have been the truth in this story if not for people without magic. They were the ones that couldn’t do much compared to magicians. 

One day one of the nonmagicians thought “What if we create our own magic” and that's how technology slowly came to be. Even magicians were partially using it since they didn’t need to use their powers. 

Even so. Technology wasn’t enough to make the rift between magicians and nonmagicians disappear. It’s the year 1924 and the world of this story is the same as ours was in those times. Except, there are magicians between those scientists, businessmen, or even homeless people. Magic didn’t give them a special place in this world. They were just humans but with a gift. 

Some people thought differently. In the city of Monlo of Splendia Kingdome, things worked differently compared to other cities. It was the second biggest city in the kingdom but it was the first when it came to the crime rate. 

People with strong magic or tricky magic created gangs and with those powers, they ruled the underworld of the city. Some of them hid from the police, some just ignored them and some were feared by police. 

The city was mainly ruled by three gangs. Red Hats, Grey Hounds, and Black Roses. They each ruled over their smaller or bigger territories but where are the borders there are the conflicts. Some parts of the city are silent and some are just a battlefield. In those battles, magicians and nonmagicians fight side by side as comrades and as enemies. 

After long battles on the streets, one gang came on top. Red Hats gathered small gangs under them and by that making huge number advantage over two others well known gangs. The number of members wasn’t their only advantage. Leader of Red Hats with his unusual magic assassinated two others leaders and make the structure of those gangs crumble. 

Black Roses were too scared to make a move and with that fear, their members slowly left the gang or switched to the other side. Only the faithful few stayed in the gang. They switched from illegal actions to working as guards for people from the underground.

After the death of Grey Hounds’ leader, the internal conflict came to be. Members didn’t agree on who should be the next leader. Normally in that situation gangs are disbanded or split into smaller gangs. In this gang it was different. One member assassinated all who were against him and with that, he made a name as their new leader. He was so eager to kill people that he changed the gang into an assassination gang. While the members picked every assassination with a good price, the leader was picky. He only chose hits that sounded exciting and thrilling for him. There are many reasons why people join those gangs. Some come just for the money, some for fame, and some because fate didn't give them other options in their lives. 

Even in the world of magic life isn’t easy. It might be even harder to achieve something great when you are an even smaller star among those who shine the brightest.
