Sofia has anger management issues that led to her expulsion and, because of this, she was transferred in the middle of the school year. At her new school, she just wants to go unnoticed. However, her attention is caught by Dan, impossible not to notice with their neon orange hair. Unable to distinguish their gender, but not caring about it, Sofia finds herself interested and ends up joining Dan's friend group - which happens to be one of the main bands at this new and unconventional school. Amid tears, laughter, losses and overcoming challenges, Sofia and Dan, with their bittersweet lives, grow closer when Dan shares thoughts about their personal discovery - something that Sofia made them reflect upon. They soon discover a unique musical connection that brings them even closer together, finding in each other comfort and safety for their own personal matters.
