"Hi, I'm Kristopher, what would you like today?" I smile at the girl slouching on the other side of the counter.
"Venti chocolate mocha with six shots of espresso."
"Would that be all?" Hoooolyyyyyy crap. That's a lot.
"Yes."
"Alright, what's your name?" I ask. She straightens, actually looking me in the eye now.
"Ariana. You're new here, aren't you?" She squints at me.
"Yes?" I start making her order. Where was this going? I swear, if one more customer asks me for my goddamn number-
"OK." Ariana waves at one of the other baristas- aaaaand I still haven't gotten around to learning anyone's name. Crap. As Ariana starts up a conversation- I guess she's a regular- I stick a lid on her coffee and write 'Ariana' on her cup.
"Ariana?" I slide it over the counter and catch her eye. She grins, waves at the person she's talking to and walks over.
"Wanna hang out sometime? You look like you could use a friend." She winks at me and inspects the name I wrote on the cup. Am I really that lonely looking???
"Um....?" I look at one of my colleagues for help. She simply laughs and keeps making her order. Dear Lord.
"Here's my number." She sticks a sticky note on my forehead and walks out. What? Who on God's Green Earth just carries sticky notes with them?? I unstick the note and stuff it in my pocket, not bothering to look at it. Moving on to the next customer, I plaster another smile on my face.
The rest of the shift passes without incident- although three more customers ask if I wanted to hang out/ for my number. I climb into my car and peel the sticky out of my pocket.

Okay then. I consider the note for a bit, then fold it up and sequester it back in my pocket.
