I was looking up at my mother, kind blue eyes, and next to her was my father, Sabertooth. Next to my father was my soon to be friend Thunderling.
“ Let’s name her...Thunder...Thunderling” My mom’s voice was so sweet and soothing.
“That’s my name too!” Said the hatchling that was next to my mother, now looking at me with wide eyes, tail wagging excitedly. When I finally noticed Thunderling, so many other dragons had come inside the Medic den to come and see me. To be honest I was scared of all the other dragons.
“It’s okay sweetie.” My father’s voice sounded tough and strong but also loving and kind. I didn’t notice that Thunderling had come up behind me and I jumped and hid under my mom’s wing.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you.” He apologised looking guilty.
“...It’s ok” I said a little shyly. Now, I was a shy dragon when I was younger.
“ Hey! Do you want to go outside and play?” Asked Thunderling. I looked at my mom wide-eyed, happy to have an immediate friend.
“ Can we mom? Please!” I begged. She laughed softly
“I don’t see why not, go and have fun.” She said with a smile on her face.
“Be careful you two!” My father shouted after us. We soon became childhood friends and grew up together. A few months later we had both grown bigger. I was a taller dragon, almost the size of an average claw, in fact others mistook me for a claw and asked who my mentors were. And I hadn’t learned to control my powers yet, but I didn’t even know I had them!
“Hey Thunderling I bet you can’t catch me!” My friend said waving his tail in the air.
“Your on!” I said. I chased him. I was a fast dragon and so was he. In fact, all the lightning dragons were. I finally caught up to him and tagged him with my wing.
“Ha ha! You can’t catch me!” I shouted playfully. I turned and started to run not looking where I was going. Then I hit something hard. Thunderling ran up to me to see if I was ok. We looked up and there was another dragon. He was older, probably old enough to be a claw already.
“Hey, do you want to play with us?” I asked.
“No, I’m not playing with dumb lightning dragons like you!” said the older dragon.
“What’s wrong with us?” Thunderling asked.
“I already told you! Your dumb lightning dragons!” He roared. Now I know that’s just stupid random stuff he was saying but when we were younger that kinda stuff hurt our feelings...like A LOT.
“ Us Magic dragons are much better than you little scumbags.” He said grinning evilly. I guess Thunderling saw me starting to cry a little bit because he was starting to get a little more “protective” over me. Which was sweet.
“Why don’t you pick on someone your own size, you big bully!” He tried to sound confident. Not the best comeback but I was thankful for him trying.
“Hmmm. She does look almost as big as me.” He grinned crouching, ready to pounce on me and I ran, but he started to chase me.
“Leave her alone!” Thunderling shouted but it was no use. I ran and ran, he was having trouble keeping up with my speed but somehow he stayed somewhat close.
“Leave me alone!” I shouted now crying and fearing of losing my life. I ran past this other dragon about the same age as the one who was chasing me and hid behind her out of breath. The two dragons started arguing but I couldn’t hear them. I drew a blank. Then Thunderling came running towards us with my mom.
“Clearclaw, What do you think your doing?!” My mom said angrily. So that was the dragon’s name. My mom looked enraged at Clearclaw. Immediately his tail went between his legs, like a scared little dog...or something. I ran out from behind the dragon that hid me from view of Clearclaw.
“Ma!” I shouted tears still in my eyes.
My mom looked down at me with relief in her eyes.
“Thunderling are you ok?” She asked me.
Thunderling (my friend) also looked relieved to see that I was safe.
“Clearclaw why were you chasing my daughter!”
