With cat-like eyes and ocean-blue hair, a ten-year-old child lived in a secluded village. Her beauty was so enticing that any male would want to court her, yet she was dreaded by many others. Because of her dominant and strange look, the youngster and her family were exiled from the village. It was said that they were shamed, reviled, frightened, and mistreated, then after, her mother was then killed by the villagers.
Together with her mother's companion who claimed to be her aunt fled together in the forest, where the two of them lived for two years, but after, they were pursued by assassins and separated up on the way. She was besieged and had no choice but to retreat into the dark forest, where she would be impossible to locate and people wouldn't dare to come approach.
The child had no idea what was going to happen to her; her instincts told her not to go. But because she didn't have a choice, she dashed into the forest, her eyes filled with fear and malice. The child ran deeper and deeper into the woods until she collapsed unconscious on the ground.
Roswald, a beast hunter who inherited the dragon's blood but had yet to awaken. He was called the cold-blooded monster, that was how others perceived him. The truth is that he was a caring and kind individual. Many people liked him, but they sometimes mistook him because of his appearance and the way his eyes appeared to be glaring.
Roswald goes hunting in the forest on any given day. He noticed a black mist surrounding the trees as he walked deeper into the forest. He felt threatened, so he stopped hunting for the day and returned to the village to inform the village guild of what he had seen.
The child was still unconscious on the ground in the deep forest at the time. She was engulfed in a cloud of black mist. It was becoming increasingly thick by the time the child was unconscious and unaware of her surroundings.
A giant eye in the mist was looking back in the Village of Danbell. The people were calm and having a good time as usual, unaware of the danger lurking in the forest. Roswald arrives at the village guild, sells the beast he captured, and requests an audience with the guild master Geld Sibak and the village chief Mario Diemco to discuss the dark mist and the impending danger.
The black mist that surrounded the forest began to cover the entire area while Roswald, Geld, and Mario were meeting. The moving mist that was making its way into the village was noticed by the village guards. At the time, the three of them were still conversing when suddenly they heard the bell ring loudly.
Their conversation was disrupted when the guild masters' assistant, Sheena, suddenly barged into the room and shouted, "Guild master monsters and beasts from one hundred miles away from the village are heading this way at a brisk!"
Roswald, Geld, and Mario were taken aback by the news and rushed to their seats, taking immediate action. At the same time, Geld dispatched a messenger pigeon to the capital to seek assistance. Whilst Mario, the village chief, notifies the villagers of the upcoming danger.
Many hunters were called to fight, but almost half of them were unwilling, while the others were losing hope of fighting. Geld was in distress as their power and strength were lacking and they were outnumbered by monsters and beasts.
The soldiers of the village were evacuating all the villagers, hoping that they could go out of the village and go to a safe ground, but sadly, they couldn't as the village was already surrounded by monsters and beasts.
The hunters and soldiers who were willing to fight were losing hope as the monsters and beasts were coming closer to the village. They were afraid and in despair as their lives were coming to an end. They all thought, "Instead of waiting to die, we'd rather fight than become cowards and see the village destroyed," as they looked up at the sky with the eyes of a warrior.
As they were all in despair, Roswald was rushing through the forest, killing many hordes of monsters and beasts coming into the village. Geld saw Roswald kill the monsters and beasts with no hassle. It was like he was only hitting a ball coming his way. Geld almost felt sorry for the monsters and beasts that Roswald was facing on his way.
The hunters and soldiers were in disbelief at what they saw with their own eyes. Roswald was like a ravaging beast, killing all the monsters and beasts without end. Then they remembered that he was a renowned ex-warrior of the capital who, they said, was a raging beast who had no tears to shed for those he killed.
They all felt embarrassed that, as they were all feeling lost and afraid, while Roswald was fighting the monsters and beasts all alone, the hunters and soldiers were moved by him and started moving forward, fighting the horde of monsters and beatings from north to south. Some were left in the village to defend the walls.
Roswald grew weary of killing the monsters and beasts endlessly. He was losing his grip and his sight was getting blurry. He was almost hit by the monster bear claws if Geld couldn't get to him in time to help him.
"Thanks," Roswald said, while sweating and gasping for air.
"Get some rest I-" Gelds' word was cut halfway when suddenly Roswald swung his sword and there was a monster at Gelds' back, pouncing and bearing its fangs.
The two were in silence. They couldn't continue their conversation as they were surrounded by both sides. The monster and beast were in place, not moving an inch, as if observing them for their prey's weakness. Roswald was provoking them with an intimidating voice. One of the beasts, one with a bear and wolf-like appearance, came forward as if it were the monster and beast leader.
Geld swallowed his saliva and was intimidated by the beast. Roswald was calm and focused on the beast's movement. The two locked gazes at each other, as if reading each other's movement. The wind was blowing blazing hot as the tension got heavier. The beast charged on ahead with a domineering aura. Roswald evaded the attack and swung his sword, leaving a scar on the beast's body.
On the other hand, Geld was having a hard time dealing with the weak monsters and beasts. He was wounded all over, and at the same time, he was tired, but the tiredness he felt didn't matter because his life was in danger. If he was to grow weary and show weakness to the enemy, it would mean that the ground where he stood would be his grave.
Roswald had been fighting the beast for a long time, viciously exchanging blows here and there. Neither of them yields to one another. The beast has gone weary and Roswald takes that opportunity to strike a final blow to the beast, but it was not easy. The beast raised its guard as it sensed the sharp blade coming for its throat.
Roswald's blade broke into pieces as it collided with the beast's fangs. Roswald wavers, and as the beast notices, it charges towards him with confidence. Geld shouted Roswald's name. Roswald got back to his senses as he saw Gelds' wounded body and dodged the beast's attack. He could barely dodge it as the beast's claws were faster.
The beast pants heavily after its attack. Roswald, with no blade on hand, uses his bare hands to attack the beast. His paunch suffocates the beast indefinitely and mercilessly. The beast also attacked him, but it couldn't hit him because the beast's sight, where Roswald had inflicted a wound, had gone blurry and blackened.
Finally, after an endless exchange of attacks, the beast was finally defeated. Roswald and Geld then collapsed on the ground as they were both worn out, but the battle had yet to end. As Roswald began to lose consciousness, he saw people coming in closer to the both of them, killing all of the beasts and monsters with magic that tried to approach the village.
The hunters and soldiers back in the village were slaying the remaining monsters coming their way. Some of them died. They were all worn out because of the endless battle. There were many more monsters and beasts left surrounding the Village of Danbell.
Some monsters and beasts got inside the village and were wreaking havoc. The hunters were barely keeping them from coming into the village. It was so hard that all of them lost hope when suddenly an unknown force came their way to help.
The knights riding horses and mages flying in the sky from the capital were coming into the village at a fast speed to assist them in killing all the monsters and beasts on their way to the village. It was then that Mario came out and greeted them, but that greeting didn't last much longer, for there were many monsters heading their way.
The battle lasted until sunrise; the first wave, the second wave, and the last wave of monsters and beasts. After so long, the monsters and beasts were defeated. Because of that, the village was wrecked after a long-lasting battle. Many soldiers and hunters died protecting the village. Because of that, the villagers were kept safe.
To be continued….
