When Trenton Ames overthrows the old empire, he promises peace and justice to the chasm, a world surrounded by mysterious cliffs, full of diverse creatures and powers. Trenton is a hero.
However, Trenton Ames is not our story.
Our story starts forty years later.
The chasm is now split among Trenton’s four sons, and changes threaten the stability of the new governments. An oncoming industrial revolution, economic inequality, and publicized injustices stir the people. When the kingdoms are plunged into war, the people search for a new road to prosperity.
