I flipped the amulet in my fingers like I did with my multitude of knives. I remembered the old lady who gave it to me. "You sure you want this?" she questioned. "Why not" I had responded out loud as I looked at the oval amulet with a black gem in the center. The old lady looked at me with a serious face, "If you read the incantation on the back you will summon a very dangerous demon." I looked at her with a mix of amazement, surprise, excitement, and disbelief. "Ugh, grandma stop scaring costumers," a guy growled then turned to me, " trust me, it's safe, she is just a little old and has a lot of superstitions."
I shook myself out of my flashback and got up from my couch. Knowing that my parents won't return until next month I decided to go to my basement. It was dark inside but still warm; there were candles that were making a soft glow placed in a circle and mirrors surrounding the candles only one mirror was taken away to make a small entrance. I walked to the center of the circle being careful not to knock down the mirrors. Once I was in the center I sat down and sighed. I crossed my legs and closed my eyes calming my nerves and clearing my mind. The silence and peaceful atmosphere calmed me and I started humming his theme written by Toby Fox, a peaceful song/sad. After I finished humming the song I looked down at my amulet and stood up about to leave. I felt like something tugged me to look at the amulet and I flipped it between my fingers looking at the back. I looked at it in shock as I realized there was writing on the back though I couldn't read it. I was about to put it down when I noticed that the words were beginning to move and shape themselves.
Suddenly the I understood the words because they were written in English. They said "Summon the demon from the gates of Hell and take him in. Wait for him to still and release him or torture him." I looked at it in surprise as the words changed again, " (Keep reading out loud to finish the contract) He shall be your's to command and you shall finish the contract. I suddenly realized that I had memorized all the words so I began to say it out loud and I added the last part in case he really was evil.
A gust of wind suddenly blew across the room even though there were no windows and it almost blew out the candles. Out of the middle of the circle rose a man. He had grey skin and wore a tux with what looked like black flames coming out of his back. He had the classic black demon horns and the classic black demon tail. He had messy black hair and sharp black eyes, the type you could get lost in, and black nails.
He looked down and his eyes widened with surprise and he looked around frantically till his eye's stopped at me confused. "Er, are you ok," I asked him confused. He raised his black eyebrows and laughed, " Did you summon me on purpose because you kinda trapped me." I smiled at him at least he's laughing I thought as I shrugged "how?" He tilted his head to one side and spoke: " candles simulated the dead and opened the portal, but with the mirrors, you just confine me to this small area." I nodded understanding his situation, "so how do I get you out"
"Oh, just come inside and drag me out," he said though I noticed he was looking at me skeptically. I nodded and walked toward him slipping through the mirrors and grabbed his wrist pulling him behind me. Once he was out I looked at him and asked, "So uh what's your name." He looked at me and tilted his head to the side again confused before responding " um, Jack, also how are you so calm you do realize I am a demon right?" At this, I smiled and laughed, "Yeah, but I'm not easily affected by those things." I laughed harder as his jaw dropped reviling two sharp teeth at the side of his mouth kinda like a vampire's but smaller. He shook his head and looked back at me, "We still need to seal the contract." I forced myself to stop laughing and nodded, "how?"
"We need it to be a blood contract, we have to make a small wound in our hands and shake" he sighed. "Ok I'll get the knife you wait here" I ordered and left the room.
Jacks POV
I watched as she left and pinched the bridge of my nose. Why is she so nice, does she realize that I can hurt her, has she met a demon before, and what does she think of me? A million questions passed through my mind and I blushed slightly at the last one. I noticed a desk at the side of the room and walked over to it. On the desk I saw a letter and multiple books I picked up the letter and examined it Dear Lily, We will be gone for a while we are visiting your grandparents for a month. Don't get into trouble and we will be back soon. Love mom and dad June/19/2017 I put it down and blushed she'll be alone for a whole month I thought.
"Don't worry they leave me alone all the time?" Lily said in a wavering voice. I turned around to see her standing on the stairs a faint smile on her face and a black knife in her hand. I felt like I should comfort her but I didn't know what to say so I walked to the middle of the room waiting for her. "So should I cut in the palm of my hand or what," she murmured as she held the knife above her palm. "Yeah," was all I could say but before she could cut I grabbed her wrist (the one she was about to cut) and spoke "here if I touch you, you shouldn't feel much pain." She smiled and nodded before poking her hand with the knife and giving it to me. In silence, I did the same and we shook hands. Then she looked at her hand surprised, "How did my hand heal so quickly?" I laughed and smiled before I answered: "demon blood can instantly heal wounds." She nodded and we stood in an awkward silence for a while. "The contract is complete now so I have to stay around you and protect you," I said to break the silence.
"Wow I didn't know a demon could be so gallant," she joked causing me to blush.
Lily's POV
"Wow I didn't know a demon could be so gallant," I joked then blushed realizing what I just said. I was about to stutter an apology when I noticed he was blushing a dark black and decided to change the subject. "so you blush black that's interesting," I said curiously. "Yeah we have black blood So when I blush It is black" He shrugged. I nodded then grabbed his wrist and dragged him up the stairs and laughing as I hear his stuttering complaints behind me. "This is my house!" I laughed as I twirled in a circle.
