There are little clues strewn about the pages that explain the motivations of what happened in the past. It doesn’t change the overall message or narrative, but if you feel like being a junior archeologist and uncover the connections, it will explain why things happened the way they did.
Maethis the priest is no stranger to comics, and before “Dastard Bastard”, I used him in a dark parable. Remember how I said I like making stories that give you giggles and gasps?
This is a gasp story.
I must stress that this will bum out your day, so make sure you’re ready to delve into a layered learning lesson that will make you go, “well, ding dang damn” at the end. I would love to hear your analysis about what the scenario symbolizes, I find it so awesome how art can create emotions and thoughts from plain old paper.
