Btw, the actual reason why crabs turn red when boiled is because a red pigment is separated from a protein in crab's shell. While the crab is alive, it produces that protein, and the chemical bond between protein and the pigment makes the overall shell color greyish/blue. However, this bond breaks under heat of boiling water, making the red pigment separate from the protein and showcase its natural color.
