The Island Beyond the World
Beyond the known winds and wandering tides, there existed a land untouched by the world.
At dawn, the ocean stretched endlessly in every direction, its waters dark blue, almost black, moving with a slow and ancient rhythm. From high above, the sea looked silent and watchful, as if it had witnessed centuries pass without ever speaking of them.
Through the mist, the island of Elyndor emerged.
It was massive—an island completely surrounded by towering mountains whose sharp peaks pierced the clouds like ancient guardians. There were no ships approaching its shores, no visible paths, and no openings through the stone barrier. Only rock, mist, and an overwhelming silence protected the land within.
Clouds wrapped themselves around the mountains while sunlight struggled to slip through. The isolation felt absolute.
Elyndor was a world sealed not by walls, but by nature itself.
From above, the island revealed its true form.
To the west, floating cliffs and powerful winds shaped the land.
To the south, volcanoes glowed beneath fields of ash.
To the east, rivers and mist-covered waterways carved their paths toward hidden bays.
And to the north, endless forests spread like a living ocean of green.
Each region felt alive—yet separate.
Here, power had not fallen from the sky.
It was born within bloodlines.
Four tribes lived on Elyndor, each with its own strength, its own way of surviving, and its own history. Though the land appeared peaceful from afar, the island carried memories that had never truly faded.
And Elyndor had never truly been at rest.
Thornvyl
Morning sunlight spread across the hilly lands of Thornvyl, turning the slopes golden as mist slowly drifted away from the valleys.
The day began loudly.
The market streets were carved into terraces along the hillside, alive with movement and noise. Vendors argued over prices, iron tools clattered against stone, and baskets filled with herbs and roots stacked high beside stalls selling fresh meat.
This was not chaos born from weakness.
It was the sound of survival.
Every person who passed carried the same piercing green eyes—focused, alert, hardened by life.
A hunter tightened a wrap around his forearm, the wound beneath already healing. Two women lifted a heavy crate together without hesitation. Nearby, a child sharpened a blade clearly meant for someone older. A merchant counted coins without even looking down.
In Thornvyl, strength was not something to show.
It was something expected.
Yet at the very edge of this busy street, beneath an old tree whose roots broke through the stone road, a child lay asleep.
Dust covered his clothes. His bare feet rested against the rough ground. Around him, carts rolled past, voices shouted, and footsteps came dangerously close—but he did not stir.
No one noticed him.
The boy’s chest rose and fell slowly, peacefully, untouched by the urgency of the world around him.
His name was Vihaan Zayne.
He was ten years old.
Above him, the market rushed forward with life and noise, while at its edge slept the boy who would one day change Elyndor—unknown to everyone, even himself.
The Dream
Darkness blended into an orange twilight.
Vihaan stood on a hilltop plain where the wind carried the sounds of battle. Steel clanged violently, horses thundered across the ground, and desperate shouts echoed through the chaos.
Thornvyl soldiers charged across the land, blades colliding in a storm of movement and dust.
But Vihaan stood apart from it all.
At the edge of a cliff, he watched with tears running down his face.
Below him stretched a deep valley swallowed by shadow.
An old man clung desperately to the cliff’s edge, one hand gripping rock while the other reached upward toward the child.
“Go!” the old man shouted, his voice breaking over the chaos.
“Grandpa—!” Vihaan cried.
“Go! Save your life!”
Rocks crumbled beneath the man’s hand. The sounds of battle drew closer.
“You have to survive! Go—now!”
His fingers slipped.
Time slowed.
Dust scattered in the air as his hand slid away from the rock.
Vihaan lunged forward, reaching out desperately.
Their fingers almost touched.
Almost.
“…Live,” the old man whispered.
Then he fell.
His body disappeared into the endless darkness of the valley. No sound came from below—only silence.
“GRANDPA—!”
Vihaan’s scream tore through the air—
And suddenly—
He jolted upright beneath the tree.
“GRANDPA!”
The market noise crashed back around him. People turned to stare, though some didn’t bother at all.
Vihaan’s breathing was uneven as he slowly lowered his trembling hand and pressed it against his chest.
The echo of the fall still lived in his eyes.
And something inside him had changed
Survival
Not long after, Vihaan walked toward a small waterfall near the edge of the market.
The stream was narrow and quiet, spilling gently over rocks into a shallow pool. Nothing impressive—just enough to exist.
He knelt and splashed water onto his face. Dust and tears washed away together.
For a moment, he simply breathed.
Then he murmured quietly to himself.
“Another day… and another struggle.”
He wiped his face and stood.
“No one’s going to lend me a bowl of soup today.”
A small pause followed.
“…and neither do I want it.”
Looking back toward the market, he watched the villagers bargaining, laughing, and guarding their belongings closely.
Life moved forward without noticing him.
“I just need a little money,” he said.
“Then I’ll move to another village. Two days of perfect rest.”
A faint breath escaped him.
“Away from my soup lenders… and these greedy villagers.”
He stepped back into the crowded streets.
Blending in.
Watching.
Waiting.
His eyes locked onto a woman’s purse hanging loosely at her side.
Heavy enough to matter.
“And here is my fare…” he whispered.
“…and my food.”
Without hesitation, he snatched it.
The woman shouted.
The market exploded into chaos.
“Thief!”
Vihaan ran.
He darted through gaps in the crowd, ducked beneath hanging cloth, leapt over fallen baskets, and raced through narrow streets with controlled breathing and focused eyes.
This was not panic.
This was survival.
But the streets of Thornvyl twisted like a maze.
And soon—
He reached a dead end.
Stone walls surrounded him as angry villagers closed in from behind.
“You think you can steal and run?” a man shouted.
Vihaan pressed his back against the cold stone, clutching the purse tightly.
Fear flickered in his eyes.
Then a memory echoed inside him.
“Live.”
He exhaled slowly.
“…I chose to.”
Just as the crowd moved closer, the air shifted.
A shadow dropped from above.
A man landed lightly on the wall, his wide-brimmed hat tilted low and his long dark cloak flaring behind him. Dark spectacles hid his eyes.
Before anyone could react, he moved.
In a single instant, he stood beside Vihaan and grabbed his arm.
The purse slipped from the boy’s hand, coins scattering across the ground.
The crowd shouted, but it was too late.
The man ran directly toward the wall—
And launched upward.
He soared over the crowd with Vihaan in one arm, cloak slicing through the air like a dark wing.
A moment later, they were gone.
Vanished into the streets beyond.
The Offer
By sunset, they reached a deserted hill path.
The man finally stopped running and tossed Vihaan aside onto the ground.
“Hey!” Vihaan shouted angrily. “How dare you throw me like a sack of wool?!”
“Stop shouting, child,” the man replied calmly. “You should be thanking me.”
Vihaan stood, brushing dust off himself.
“I could’ve saved myself even if you didn’t arrive.”
“Don’t fool yourself,” the man said coldly. “They would have beaten you half to death… or dragged you to the guards.”
Silence followed.
“Why did you help me?” Vihaan asked.
The man turned toward him.
“Because you are weak,” he said.
“And weakness that refuses to die… must be strengthened.”
After a moment, he began walking away.
“I am from the House of Evolution,” he said. “A place where you get food, shelter… and power.”
Vihaan frowned.
“Does a place like that even exist?”
“Yes.”
The man paused briefly.
“If you wish to become part of it—follow me.”
The wind blew across the hills.
Vihaan looked back toward the distant village, then at his bruised hands.
Finally, he stepped forward.
The House of Evolution
Night had fallen when they reached the forest.
Tall trees blocked the moonlight, and the silence felt ancient and watchful.
At last, the horse stopped in front of a massive wooden house hidden deep within the clearing. Its beams were crooked, moss covered the walls, and the windows were dark.
Two silent guards stood at the gate, their eyes hidden behind dark glasses even in the night.
Kael spread his arms slowly.
“This… is the House of Evolution.”
Vihaan stared at the building, small before something far greater than himself.
And somewhere deep inside that silent forest, the first step of his destiny had already begun.
