Short, shaggy, light chestnut hair, kept clean and smelling of pine. Soft peach-toned skin, only slightly tanned by the sun, but quite healthy. Teal eyes full of light.
What a perfect choice, I thought to myself. When I asked Debbie if I could take her, she seemed not to care one way or the other -which, of course, works out for me. Watching her that first day was interesting. I knew everything about this being, even down to her minute likes and dislikes. I didn’t need to know all of this, but it doesn’t hurt. She was the ideal choice, after all! A radiant glimmer of hope, change, and fun; not to mention the natural advantage of her kind.

That first day, she was simply working at her business, scribbling away on a blueprint paper while humming to herself. Perhaps she was daydreaming about a more fun place. Her store was indeed empty, void of customers and silent, aside from the quiet music playing on her smartphone device. Those definitely seem more fun; I should consider making them on Rivemm. Perhaps someday soon. 

Oh, but I’m getting ahead of myself. 

She went about her day normally, it seemed. Customers came and went, the hours passed and passed. Until she closed her shop and headed for somewhere else: a boring architectural firm on the opposite end of town. Such a mundane seeming existence. No flame, no fire, no essence to it! 

Obviously, Ené felt that same boredom overcoming her, her thoughts ripe with ideas of adventure and acrobatics. This girl wanted a flame, hers had gone so dull. 

Perfect candidate. 

The makings of a hero! 

All that was left was for her to come to me, and I knew how to make that happen.
