Welcome to the city of Dar-es-Salaam, where in a luxurious mansion resides a wealthy fashion mogul named Mr. Moses. Mr. Moses has amassed great wealth through his fashion company called Proud, which operates both locally and in neighboring countries. He has gained nationwide fame for his beautiful and high-quality products. Today, his house is visited by journalists who have come to interview his daughter, Eva Moses, who is about to launch a new clothing line. Eva, daughter of the renowned fashion mogul Mr. Moses.
Presenter: You're quite young, only 17 years old as you mentioned. How can you design such beautiful clothes at such a young age?
Eva: Well! Perhaps something many people don't know is that this is a talent passed down from my parents. Both my parents are fashion designers and they run successful fashion companies. So, I can say I was born with this talent, but also, I'm studying fashion design, modeling, marketing, and other aspects of the fashion industry.
Presenter: Oh! Congratulations!
Eva: Thank you! Thank you very much.
Presenter: Okay, one last question before we wrap up. I'd like to know, or rather the viewers would like to know, what does Eva love more than anything else in her life?
Eva: What I love more than anything else!?
Presenter: Yes.
Eva: Wow! What I love more than anything else in my life is my father. I love my father, Mr. Moses, very much. So much so that I can't even express it, but to me, he's number one.
As the interview continues, Mr. Moses stands a little aside, watching his daughter conduct the interview. One of the journalists approaches Mr. Moses.
Journalist: Congratulations, Mr. Moses, on your remarkable achievements.
Mr. Moses: Thank you very much!! Thank you for your contribution as well.
Journalist: How about incorporating your daughter into your company? She seems to be doing great things too.
Mr. Moses: Yeah!! That's true, but I want her to finish her studies first and grow a bit older, maybe around 19 or 20.
Journalist: Oh! True, let her mind mature as well.
As they continue their conversation, Eva finishes her interview and goes over to where her father is.
Journalist: Oh! Looks like they're done. Alright, Mr. Moses, we'll see you another time.
Mr. Moses: Alright, thank you very much, welcome again. (they bid farewell)
Eva: Dad...!! (excitedly)
Mr. Moses: Eva, my daughter, congratulations on a fantastic interview. You did a stellar job.
Eva: Ha ha ha ha ha...! Stop kidding, Dad.
So, that day was a joyful one for the family, which consists of a total of 27 members, with 25 being employees excluding Mr. Moses and Eva. The next morning, bright and early, Mr. Moses wakes up, brushes his teeth, takes a shower, and starts getting ready, apparently for somewhere he needs to go. After a while, he finishes getting ready and comes out of his room.
Mr. Moses: Hello!! Eva, Eva, are you ready to go?
Eva: Yes, Dad, Madam Sarah is finishing up preparing me here.
(Madam Sarah is Eva's maid)
Mr. Moses: Oh! I just realized something; it seems like you want to look stunning enough to outshine the party host.
Madam Sarah: I dressed her in this outfit because it's her mother's favorite color.
Mr. Moses: Yes!! Her mother will be delighted, especially seeing her daughter in her favorite color.
Eva: Wow!! Today, we're going to see mom; I want to see her in person, not just in pictures. And when my holiday is over, I'll tell mom that we should all come back here together.
Mr. Moses was a bit startled after hearing that but he played it off.
Mr. Moses: Yes! Alright, let's go, because we're running late.
Madam Sarah: Have you packed her bags properly?
Mr. Moses: Yes, I've packed everything she directed me to.
Mr. Moses: Eva, did you remember to take your books?
Eva: Yes, Dad, I remembered.
Mr. Moses: Good, don't forget to study; you need to keep up with your studies even while you're here. Okay?
Eva: Okay, Dad.
After taking their luggage, Mr. Moses and Eva got into the car, and the journey began. While inside the car, conversations continued between father and daughter.
Eva: Dad, is today Mom's birthday?
Mr. Moses: No, my dear..!! We're attending a wedding today.
Eva: Mmmh!! Okay.
After a two-hour journey, they finally arrived at the venue, where a large, luxurious building stood, teeming with many people, and the party seemed to be in full swing. Mr. Moses and his daughter were welcomed.
Guard: Welcome, sir!! Sorry, may I see your cards?
Mr. Moses: Here's my card; we're using a double card.
Guard: Okay, VVIP, please proceed through this door; you'll find a table with your name on it.
Mr. Moses: Alright, thanks, boss. Eva, let's go, my dear.
Eva: Wow!! This place is so beautiful.
Mr. Moses: It's very beautiful, just like you look today, my darling.
They reached the VVIP tables and sat down at their table, while the party continued. It was a grand wedding celebration, with the bride and groom greeting the guests. It was indeed a day of joy.
Groom (Damian): I haven't seen Mr. Moses yet?
Bride (Joyce): All I need right now is to see my daughter. It's been so many years since I've been away from her.
Damian: What about your husband? Ha ha ha ha! (teasing)
Joyce: I prefer not to discuss that here, especially considering what day it is for us.
At the table where Mr. Moses and his daughter sat, conversations continued slowly as they enjoyed their drinks.
Eva: Oh! There are so many people; I tried to look around to see if I could spot Mom, but I haven't found her yet.
Mr. Moses: Don't worry, Eva, you'll see her when the time is right.
Eva: Oh wow!! Dad, I've seen Mom!! over there. (excitedly)
Eva stood up from her chair and started to rush towards her mother, but before she reached her, she suddenly stopped!! She was stunned to see her mother holding hands with another man, but...
Mr. Moses: Oh! Don't be afraid, let's go to your mother.
Eva: Mom is holding hands with him! Who is he?
Mr. Moses: Yes, I meant to tell you today that we're coming to your mother's celebration. Don't be afraid, let's go.
They moved closer.
Damian: Aaahhaa! Welcome, Mr. Moses... I see you're with your daughter.
Mr. Moses: Thank you, Mr. Damian, how's everything!?
Damian: We're all good, as you can see, everyone is happy; I believe no one regrets coming here, right, Mr. Moses?
Mr. Moses: That's true, very true, Damian, the party is wonderful, from the surroundings, food, music to the people themselves, you both look stunning... How are things, Joyce?
Joyce: I'm fine, very fine indeed, welcome... Wow!! Eva, my dear, how are you? I missed you so much, my darling.
Eva: Mom, who is he?
Joyce: Him? (nervously)
Eva: Yes.
Joyce: Ah, mmh!!
Mr. Moses: Eva, this is your stepfather, and I'm your biological father. He loves you... He loves you just as much as your mother loves you... He's a good father, don't be afraid. (assuring her)
Eva: No, it can't be.
Mr. Moses: Why not? He's your father; he loves you... he loves you as your mother loves you... He's a good father, don't be afraid. (reassuring her)
Eva: So, during this whole vacation, I'll stay with mom and this other father?
Mr. Moses: Yes... He's your father now because today he got married to your mother.
Eva: So, today is my mom's wedding...!! But I don't understand... Wait!! So, when is your wedding, Dad? (surprised)
Mr. Moses: My wedding!? It's non-existent, and you won't be attending it.
Eva: Why, Dad!! But Mom is getting married?
Mr. Moses: Because my wedding was before you were born.
Eva: You mean your wedding with mom?
Mr. Moses: Yes, my dear.
Eva: So why don't you stay with mom then?
Mr. Moses: I don't need to... Because in my life, I have everything.
Eva: Everything!!? What, because you're rich?
Mr. Moses: No, everything because it's you. You are everything to me.
Eva was comforted by those words, leading her to hug her father and respond.
Eva: You are everything to me, Dad, I love you more than anything, and I don't want you to have another mom, but Mom is bad, why didn't she stay with you, Dad.
Mr. Moses: Don't say that; it was me who made a mistake, not her. (comforting her)
Eva: Are you telling the truth, Dad, did you really make a mistake?
Mr. Moses: Yes, my dear, but you know what happened after I made that mistake?
Eva: No, what happened!?
Mr. Moses: I asked your mother for forgiveness, and she forgave me. She forgave me because we're all human, and we don't always do what's right; sometimes we make mistakes, which is why we need to forgive before it reaches a point where we also need forgiveness when we make mistakes. So, you also need to forgive me and your mother for not being able to stay together.
Joyce: That's enough now, Moses; I think the child understands you, and she'll do as you've instructed her.
Mr. Moses: Okay, fine!! Eva, for this entire holiday, you'll stay with your mom and your stepfather here, and after the holiday, I'll come to get you, alright.
Eva: Don't be late to come for me because I'll miss you so much. (teasingly)
Mr. Moses: Don't worry; I'll tell the driver to remind me not to forget (teasingly). Okay, Eva, Joyce, and Damian, I'll leave you now, but I had this gift for Joyce.
Joyce: Thank you, Mr. Moses, for your gift.
Mr. Moses kissed Eva and got into the car and left. Eva looked at her mother and her stepfather, and said to them.
Eva: I love you, Mom and Dad, I'll love you as I was told to love you by my dad.
Damian: (Thinking) It seems she loves him, trusts him, and listens to him a lot, her father.
