With a sharp intake of breath, Makai rises from a pile of ashes and into the smoke. She looks around, dumbfounded. Before she can get a grip, the fire rages on, and for the first time, Makai notices it. She begins to run, but quickly falls. Makai tries to speak, but inhales smoke instead. She begins choking on the black air. She falls to the ground, thinking.  "What's happening? Why am I here? I was just with mom, wasn't i?" The realization of her mother's disappearance sends Makai into a blitz "Mom? Where are you?". Makai begins to yell between breaths, and begins to feel the pain of many flaring wounds along her arms, neck, and tail. "Wait, a tail? Why do I have a... Wait, shouldn't I know this already? I can't... Can't....

Makai is cut off by her currently, slowly but surely dying.
