Millions of years ago when humans were just beginning to evolve as single cell organisms two other races also began in secret. The other two were different in that they evolved at a higher rate than the humans, where it would take humans eons to evolve into multicellular organisms it only took a few hundred for the others. The two began at the same time but as they evolved they begun to take on different appearances and traits. Soon the two evolved into quadrupeds eons before the humans but when they evolved their differences begun to stand out as one had grown small wings but could not fly. While the other begun to move with such great speed and power that made them hard to see. A millennium passed with the two evolving into bipeds walking upright with ease but this was not the only change as both begun to shed their bodily hair apart from their head and genital region. Their faces and bodies had also become more structured and defined but with all these improvements to their bodies they had yet no spoken language or written language only communications was through body language.
As time went on more changes begun to take effect as the wings grew larger almost triple in size from the original which before only went down to the small of their back now they reached the ground. Yet they were still unable to achieve the gift of flight. The others grew faster but this was not the only change as their eyes grew blood red and this gave them the ability to see into the dead of night. While they achieved this level of evolution the humans had just begun to evolve into quadrupeds but were evolving fast both in biology and numbers. Soon the humans caught up in evolution but lacking the gifts that the other two had but their numbers were that of triple the other two species together. With so few numbers the two others begun to live together and work together and soon they even begun to learn to communicate even if it was only a few words at first. With language they also grew in skill both in hunting and weapons, not weapons to use on each other but hunting and to defend their homes from those who would take it from them.
With the humans growing in numbers the known world was unable to compensate for three races and soon there was a growing imbalance of nature all around them. The humans were warlike and unable to grasp reason or simple truths in short they were animals, they begun to fight for both land and food. The humans drove the other two races from their homes and away from their lands being more intelligent than the primitive human and not wanting to loose anymore of their kin, the two races migrated to the south far from the warlike humans. Where they continued to live in peace and evolve into more than what they were.
Their language evolved more and more each day it was one that only they knew how to speak and what it meant to them. As they evolved they grew further apart in appearance and in mannerisms. The ones with red eyes grew strong and their senses heightened to where they could hear, smell and see for miles but with this evolution came a downfall for them. Food such as berries and meat no longer satisfied their hunger as water no longer quenched their first. They did not know what was happening until one day while they were carving their kill the blood from the beast aroused their senses and wetted their tongues. This thirst was too much for them to handle they threw down their tools and bit down on the raw flesh drawing out the blood and drinking it down. It was only then their hunger stilled and sated. This was not an easy change as it frightened them because they enjoyed the taste of blood greatly and how it made them feel. As the blood made them feel strong it also made them feel stronger than ever. But it also made them feel more alive and they wanted more.
They were not the only ones going through a new phase of evolution as the ones with wings were also changing. Their senses also heightened like the red eyes but they also grew in strength becoming stronger than any other species on the planet including the red eyes. They also moved faster than before but not as fast as the red eyes although they could hold their own in a race against them. With all of this they soon gained the know-how on how to fly using their wings. Their wings which started off as a dark brown but over the centuries they had turned to white which made them looked more graceful as they begun to fly. They were able to fly great distances in a short span of time but a downfall to this achievement was that it tired them quickly. While their changes were not as drastic as the red eyes but they were great. Like the red eyes their eyes changed as well for they were no longer brown but instead turned to a bright blues and greens. With these new eyes they also gained the ability to see in the dark. It was a new ability that although useful was not a necessity as they were not as active as the red eyes at night. It was helpful to protect themselves from dangers of the night. Both races tried to live with these new found abilities and traits for a time but it was a strenuous time.
Both of the races feared each other. The red eyes feared that since the winged grew in strength to be stronger than them which meant that they would be able to defeat them with ease should there be any uprising. This was a fear that was not necessary as the winged were peaceful towards them but their fear was very real and soon to be realized. They feared that the red eyes bloodlust would one day take over and they would turn on them. They kept this fear to themselves not wanting to upset the red eyes because the blood drinking increased their rage and anger to a uncontrollable level. With the old dying and the young being born the red eyes could no longer tolerate the sun as they grew sensitive to it. This caused the others to fear them even more. One day a hundred years later their fears were realized.
In the middle of the night while most everyone was asleep the blood lust got to be too great for a red eye male. He crept into a winged home and attacked drinking his blood but something happened in that moment as the blood did not satisfy his hunger but instead burned him from the inside out killing him in a matter of moments. As the red eye died, the winged one did not he remained alive and rather unharmed apart from the holes in his neck with the blood running down his neck and his arm. The screams of pain that came from both of them awoke those that slumbered. Racing to the home where the screams came from and to their horror when they entered the home they saw the winged one bleeding from a neck wound made only by a red eye’s teeth. On the floor laid the burnt body of a red eye they knew it was one for his red eyes still glowed as if alive but was very much dead. As a few tended to the injured male the rest stood there in utter silence as he was the first to die in this manner but would not be the last.
The red eyes removed the body to take for a proper burial but as they left the winged ones just watched them for in that moment they showed what they were really capable of and who they really were. That night changed everything for both species and for the next few nights the winged did not sleep out of fear of another attack and retribution for the unfortunate death of one of their own. Even thou it was his own doing they needed someone to blame. Five days after the incident when the sun was at its peak and the red eyes slept the winged left out of fear and the need to protect themselves and their young. When the red eyes awoke that night and found their companions were gone, they felt abandoned but at the same time a hate grew in their hearts for the winged ones a hate that would last for millennium.
