Across the vastness of the universal stage, there are many cradles of life known as galaxies, each consisting of nigh-infinite stars, which in turn have given birth through their light to even more worlds and all manner of plants, animals and living things. Thus, the energy of life has given rise to the first of the high-conscious species throughout the span of planets and light, each the fragmented manifestation of a god's dreams and each with their own destiny and role in the play that is life itself. As time gave way to growth and growth gave way to thoughts, feelings, and desires, naturally conflict followed, as the ambitions and intents of new sentience began to clash and combine like the very forces of nature themselves.

Ultimately, through the process of divine selection, a handful of peoples became superior in their ability to manipulate fate, and as they rose higher in power, so too did their visions of control and mastery, and so the great conflict was born known as the war of fates, and with it, a calamity of change on a level unlike any the galaxy had ever seen. With the darkness of destruction threatening to swallow the galaxy whole and splitting the galaxy's peoples in two, it had seemed the light of life within it may be snuffed out by the consequences of its own children. Yet, all was not lost, and the galaxy remained intact as the forces of life, like roses through the concrete, unified against this threat and out of their desperation, heroism, and genius, were able to create technologies capable of great miracles and devastation which not only kept the darkness at bay but eventually cast it away for good. 

Even still, though the light was victorious their triumph was not without cost as many stars and their worlds were lost, their peoples destroyed and or scattered across space, their histories and their great technologies with them. Now it has been many millennia since the galaxy has seen life begin to flourish once more from all corners of within itself and even some outside. As this new era of life begins and new stakes and claims are to be made once again, the collision between visions of the lurking shadows of the past with the ambitions of the present and hopes for the future start anew.
