Haruki was gazing outside the window, lost in his reveries. He had almost forgotten he was in his mathematics class, until his sensei Mr.Yamamoto said : 'Alright kids, let us wind up the class and happy holidays to all of you.' 

Mr.Yamamoto packed his stuff and left the class, leaving the chaos of kids behind. Everyone was already discussing their vacation spots and trips they would go on. 

Haruki knew that like every year, this year too he would spend his entire summers in his room studying. He had always been the top student of the class, his parents and peers always looked up to him. Though he could not tell whether he was proud or burdened by his intelligence, he somewhat had to live up to their expectations. 

'Haruki, where will you go this year during summer holidays?' A girl, not just any girl, his childhood friend Shizuka questioned him. Her round eyes fixed upon his timid face. 

Haruki scratched his neck, 'I am not sure, I guess I will be spending my summers at my home again.'

'Aw, it's okay Haruki. I think me and Yuta also might be staying home this summer.' Shizuka said turning around, calling Yuta who was still packing his bag, as slow as ever. 

'What is it Shizuka?' Yuta said, clumsily coming towards them.

While Shizuka explained their summer plans to Yuta, Haruki stood there. He let his eyes wander towards Yuta, his unathletic build, black hair which slightly fell to his eyes and slightly tanned skin. 

'Haruki! Are you listening!?' Yuta said, jolting him.

'Oh y-yes, I am!' Haruki replied, flustered that he had been staring at Yuta.

'Well, we have decided that let us all spend our summer together! Like we used to do when we were in kindergarten.' Shizuka exclaimed, clasping her hands. 

'YEAH! I would love to spend time with you both, but I do not have enough money to plan a trip.' 

'It's fine, I was not planning to go on a trip either, we could just spend time in our town.' Haruki said, diverting his eyes from Yuta.

'Let's about it while walking home guys, everyone has already left.' Shizuki said, looking around at the empty classroom. 

'Yeah, let's go.' Haruki said following them outside the classroom.
