Albert didn't mean for his wish to become a curse.

All those years ago, when he was barely eleven, his infatuation with a mysterious girl named Locust made him certain he’d follow her anywhere. When they split the wishbone between them, he'd thought himself the lucky one for getting the bigger half. That was until his mom moved him to Nevada in the dead of night, and he awoke to a world without her.

He ran away at fourteen, after the death of his brother, to find the last place and person that made his life happy. On his travels he faces survival as a new adult crossing the country without a car or highschool diploma. Heartbroken, unhoused, and injured both metaphorically and literally, he lives only for the hope of someday making it back to the Locust he left behind.

An exploration of grief, the necessity for hope, and the line between love and obsession, Albert’s forced to accept that the delusions that exist in childhood can never truly be found again. Though things will always change; Albert learns that if he keeps going he can find, and deserves to find, something better.
