In the beginning, all that existed was void. From within this vast, endless chaos, was born a Goddess. Alone, she ponded why she was born, what her purpose was. Until finally, she realized, she was the creator. With her purpose answered she began to understand and embrace her powers. Wielding her great strength, she molded the void. When she was done, lush green earth was born. Upon the world, she brought to life companions to help ease her solitude. Thousands of different animals frolicking and playing. As she gazed upon her creation she felt longing. She too wanted to play with the doe and swim with the fish. However, as if sensing her great power, the animals feared her and once again the goddess was plunged into the darkness of solitude.
With one final call for help, despite the risk, the Goddess ventured farther into the void than she had ever gone before. For years she drifted aimlessly, uncertain of what she was looking for. but one day the woman finally returned, twelve young children, walking by her side. One-half of the children baring wings and the other half horns, each of varying number.
As the children grew so did their powers, and as did their rivalry. Every day they would argue, unable to every pick a clear winner. The only thing they truly agreed on was that when their mother had returned from the void the only bit of sanity she had retained was left behind. They weren't the only ones to notice either. The primitive humans not only feared their creator. They resented her. Since returning from the void, the previously loving mother who had cradled the world to her chest now ravaged her creation. Natural disasters ripped through the world every day. Those not taken by the storms were strangled by famine.
The horned devils, corrupted by the madness of their mother, were completely unfazed by her atrocities. The winged gods, however, took pity on the feeble creatures. The gods pleaded to their mother over and over again, yet their words fell on deaf ears. Determined, they fought their mother, who with the aid of their siblings, held her ground.
The battle raged for thousands of years. One by one they fell till finally, the only ones left where the leader of the gods, and his mother. The weakened goddess stared down at her blood-soaked child with a stoic distance. With one swift strike, the god slew his mother.
As he reveled in his victory, the goddess, in her final breaths, ripped through her creation and with that very creation she pierced her own son. Finally, she died.
Upon her death, the blood of the divine flooded the tattered world. The dying god looked upon this tattered, crimson world and once again felt pity.
With the last of his powers, the god used the body of his own mother to rebuild the broken lands. Her body molding into earth, previously destroyed mountains rising higher than before, oceans running deep with the blood of the divine.
The light quickly faded from the god's eyes as he felt his body fragment and scatter just as his brethren had. twelve divine items sent across the world, the children put to sleep.
The animals that inhabited the old world absorbed the blood of the divine goddess and evolved into creatures known as "divine beasts" while the humans gained the ability of magic, previously only available to the gods.
Over time the magical abilities seemingly began to fade, however, the people quickly realized that the power didn't fade it simply gathered.
Twins, the first children born in the new world, wielded power like the gods. The two were blessed by the void, along with the divine blood that runs thick in their veins. The girl, wielding the light of the void, was granted control of the mind of time within the void and learned true stability. The boy, wielding the darkness of the void, was granted the body of the void and learned true chaos. This Godlike boy founded a kingdom, his sister by his side, and brought peace to the lands. So came the Golden King
