Green Ain't The Colour

Warning: If my fan fiction is similar to the Disventure Camp Universe, and not in line with OddNation’s cannon events/ideas, I am terribly sorry for giving people a false hope of the Diencer ship sailing. Hopefully this story will be all good fun and won’t take from the Disventure Camp cannon. I just want shippers (myself included) to be satisfied, along with the fans who masturbate to their favourite depressed slashfic. I advise this story to adults… but there are a plethora of teens who can handle mature topics, myself included. Just be careful out there.

Gambling. Although he works his dream job as a math professor, Spencer’s good spending habits have crippled. It keeps his mind off of his lack of social life. The students were just as anti-social as he is, talking to them hurt as if he wasted his life. Ted had taught him how to win more games of poker, but nothing beyond that. Ted is in America, so his limited skills in cards keeps him afloat. Controlled him into a need to submit to an endless money cycle. Better off, and definitely more wholesome, Diego. Still charming, courageous, smart and easy going. Chilling in Columbia, continuing his tour guiding. One day, an unmissable opportunity arrived. “Se busca guía turístico para un zoológico británico”. British Zoo tour guide wanted? Seems like a change of scenery. To England he flew with his new co-workers. The apartments provided for them were far superior to a dinky hostel, they were surprised as to the comfortable accommodation.

Spencer’s luck deteriorated further when one of his students approached him. It was his least favourite student, not because of her grades. Her hair was jet black, jacket a neutral green, dressed like a pompous school girl. Her intonation was quite monotone, sarcastic and sadistic yet her motives and the way she carried herself was quite eccentric and highly observational. “Professor Lawrence, is this you”. She showed him a video Spencer swore he’d never watch again. “I’m quite honored that my own professor is on this… very interesting reality show.” He saw red at his own student. He was very capable of holding in his disdain at her, but this finally got him to snap. Getting defensive, he urged her to stop watching. Teasing him, thinking his break of character was simple embarrassment, the young woman found herself being yelled at by the professor she admired the most. “I find it incredibly bloody offensive of you to finally come to be after my fucking lecture just to make fun of my stupid mistakes.” Before this hiccup could calm itself, the Head of Department was at the room’s entrance. Before you know it, Professor Lawrence was to be known as just Spencer. Fortunately, the shaken up student explained her side of the story to the Head of Department. Her story didn’t paint him in the most positive light, but it gave them the grace to grant his return after a 12 month period of leave with no pay. Spencer’s hands were holding his head, processing what he just lost. His apartment is going to not be a thing and his gambling problem has his family cut off from him. The casino was dark. Suddenly, a woman came from behind him. Her hair was big and blonde with a sparkly minidress and her platform heels that matched. “You look distressed babes, wanna nip into Clappers, drinks on me? See me perform?” Spencer turned his aching head. A drag queen! Well, he may not usually find camp affairs his usual idea of a fun time, but perhaps he may crash at someone's place afterwards if someone would have him over. Diego’s co-workers were huge drag queen fans, as he is, so they went to Clapper’s night club as well. Spencer had a vague idea of how to get picked up. Get overly drunk and dance until someone would bring him home. He did just that. Diego all this time had been reminded of his brit-boy-toy when the job opportunity for England cropped up, but forgot about the lad when he got into his new routine. He started dancing in the crowd of brits. At that time, then and there, he saw a man with dark hair, just a fraction shorter. When Spencer turned his sweet head, Diego almost went white. It has to be him. Everyone at the club was so social, you could get a club worth of new mates without knowing. He didn’t look into the eyes of anyone, nor reciprocated anything. When Spencer looked in Diego's direction, he didn’t see him. Diego registered him, Spencer didn’t see him, he saw about 5 of him. He could recognise him, he had changed slightly with age but his face was illuminated in Club Clapper’s lights. Without a doubt, this was a reunion. Unfortunately, Spencer’s drink had been spiked so he was hallucinating Diego’s final night at Disventure Camp. Diego had it together, and it seemed as though he retained his integrity since Swiaki Carnival. “Spencer?” Keep in mind, he was talking to a man who was high. “Dieg- DIEGO. I NEED YOU, I-”. “Woah, Spence! So good to see you, man!” Translating back to the happy universe, the smart one replied. “I- I’M. HERE, TO SAVE YOU. CAN. Can we just both get the mill right now?.” In the outside world, with Diego, his co-worker approached him. “Ohhhhhh, myyyyyyy, goooooooodddd. Spencer? Spencer? Is that you? Ohh my goooooddd! You’ve found your past flame! Oh myyyyyy goooooooodddddd! Hiiiiiiiyyyaaa! Nice to finally meeeeeet yooouuuu!” “Emily! Please! Let him stay! I love him too much! I want you to stay with me!” “AAAAAWWWWWEEEEE he still loooovveeesss youuu! Go wife your man up already!” “Inti, you’re pushing too hard. Our relationship is long over and he’s clearly drunk.” “But, but, but… you keep me sane in this game, Diego. If someone’s here to keep me going in this game of life, it’s you.” “AWwWWWw you guys!” “Not now Int-Emily. He’s clearly… lost. I have to take him home so he’s safe for the night.” The last thing Spencer thought of in that club was the same words, just in the world and essence of where and when they met. Several years back. Colour was still in Spencer’s life, especially in his clothes. Spencer is Diego’s colour. His hallucinations start to get trippy, the boat of losers sail them both, his dream whimsy whilst he’s carried by his dream-boat lover boy. Suddenly, he teleports outside of the boat and almost falls into the sea, his man catches him. Diego guiding someone who’s usually closed off and pressed was far less glamorous in real life, especially when the person you’re holding onto starts falling like a fainting Victorian lady. He took his estranged friend to his apartment, and placed him on the window side of the bed. He got the laundry tub by his bed in case he was sick. Something he wouldn’t even do when they first met was sleep right next to him, tonight he thought of the same sentiment. He dressed in his track suit pants and slept on the other side of the bed, facing away from sleeping beauty.

Spencer Lawrence has lost his sensibility. Diego Olivo has lost his love. Though it seemed improbable of a relationship between the two men years prior, hopefully the break gives potential for something bigger.
