River has lost everything. Her parents, her society, her sense of inclusion.
But something she hasn't yet lost is her magic. Blessed by the Great River Lord from the Land Above, she sets off on her quest to rediscover who she is. Joined along the way by friends, foes and allies, she uncovers secrets to her past and takes leaps in the direction to finding out who she is. Pushed by several series of unfortunate events, she begins to lose her faith in the Great Lords from Above, doubting the tales she'd learned her whole life.
