Thirteen years old Nell Harper has, till now, endured a life of conformity in Heaven’s End, a remote little town surrounded by mysterious woodlands. But throughout the thirteen odd years of her life, there is a void within her that refuses to be fulfilled.
Till one day, she walks deep into the woods and comes across a strange looking boy living alone in a remote cottage. The boy is rather large for his age, brutally strong and badly deformed.
Once recovered from the initial shock and scare, Nell finds in him an innocence that is too terrifying and vulnerable to resist.
In the meantime, a brutal double murder takes place in the town of Heaven's End. The bodies, belonging to young girls, were badly beaten and asphyxiated by the killer with bare hands.
