Samuel is an X, a species hunted and farmed for their profitable attributes, who after being heavily abused on his farm throughout his childhood escapes, with the help of two of his friends. Humans believe Xs are nothing but vile, dangerous and unintelligent animals, which is why the horrors that the Xs face on their farms are left unnoticed. As Samuel makes his escape he promises his friends that he will return to set them all free. So at the tender age of 8 the Xling finds himself lost in a sea of humans unable to speak their language and now being hunted by the farmers (his masters) that realize he could expose the true nature of the farms and Xs themselves. Eventually stumbling into the home of a husband and wife who take pity on him and allow him to stay. As Samuel grows, he realizes in order to save his species, he will need the help of the humans, so he must figure out a way to convince them that Xs are not what they assume.
