One hundred years later humans are the subterranean species while mutated insects, called Aphiads, live above ground. Adam, a model student and son, has only ever dreamed of becoming a soldier for the United World Army. He's ranked top in his class both academically and physically. Even though he has an "it's complicated" relationship with his best friend Jimmy, life couldn't be better. Adam has everything he could ever want in life.... except the life he thought he knew is about to change forever.
