January 18th.
A normal day as it always was.
The cold winter breeze makes my hand freeze even though I am holding a cup of coffee in my hand.
I am on my way to my University.
The cars passing by, the songs of the birds sitting on the tree in the middle of the road which separates the two way.
I somewhat feel sentimental today.
I was never this way.
I'm born in a rich family which dictated things in my life until I decided to break free from.
Now, I am a normal student.
I don't have my cars, I don't have my credit cards.
There are no bodyguards behind me and a lady beside me who do things for me.
I was seen as a Princess of the modern world.
But I don't want that.
I never had a true friend before.
I never played outside.
Everything I do was being watched by people.
A daughter and the heir of the most advanced technology company, they expected me to be smart.
But I am not.
I love writing.
"Hey, good morning, Irie, how's your coffee?" Ren asks.
He's a good friend I met this year.
He loves art and math which is why he took Architecture.
We only meet in my English class.
"It's quite bitter but I enjoy it."
I sat down beside him and took my notes out.
There are other students entering the room.
Only 5 minutes left before the professor will enter the class.
"Hm, why do I feel like this is the last time I will see you, huh? Are you going somewhere?"
I looked at him.
I did feel like that earlier while I was walking down the street.
"No, I'm not going anywhere. I don't have the money to travel."
I can't stop looking at him and he does the same thing we stared at each other with undescribable expressions.
He seems afraid and I feel scared.
I don't know why.
"Text me later when you're going home, I really feel uneasy. If only I can go around with you for today..."
He rests his chin on his hand and watches as the professor comes in.
I stared at him for a moment longer.
"Yeah..."
The class started and I can't take down notes.
I feel weird.
Or are we only overreacting things?
It's only a feeling.
Maybe we just missed each other.
"I repeat, Irie, text me when you're going home, okay?"
I nod.
We are to go to our other class.
His class is on the opposite building and I just have to go down for my Math class.
"Hey.."
He didn't even move.
He just stares at me.
Suddenly he blushes and he scratches the back of his neck.
"Yeah, I will take care. Don't worry too much."
I smiled and wave my hand before turning around.
I don't like that expression.
People who look at me like everything around me is dangerous.
But when he does it, I feel safe.
"I'm going to miss you."
Ren whispers but I wasn't able to hear it.
And I should've hugged him that time.
If only I knew.
Our feelings were right.
This will be the last time I will ever see him.
"I'm really sorry, Irie, I'm going to fail if I don't take this damn test."
His face screams annoyance all over.
He punched the wall and kick it.
"He should've told me that it's today."
I just look at him.
I wanted to go home with him.
I'm... also... afraid.
I don't know why.
This is the first time I wanted to have my guards.
"Don't worry. I'll text you when I get home, just do good in your test. That's what you get for skipping classes."
I laugh.
But it came out shaky.
He looks at me while he's leaning on the wall with his hands.
He looks shocked with my laugh but he just sighs.
"Okay, text me where you are every 2 minutes."
He folded his arms.
I laugh with what he said.
"Really? 2 minutes?"
He raised his eyebrow.
"What? Is something wrong with that?"
I shake my head.
There's nothing wrong with that.
It just felt safe.
"No, I'll go then. Your exam will start, good luck!"
He smiled and then looks at his watch.
"In 8:15 you should be home, I'll expect a call."
He turned around and waves his hand.
I just watch him walk but I want to run and hug him.
"Bye," I whispered.
And I regretted that I didn't properly say goodbye.
"Now, little missy Samuel... Say goodbye!"
The push.
The pain.
The cold blade.
The warm blood that drips.
I should've said that Ren's the best person in the world.
The push.
Again.
And again.
And again.
The cold blade turns warm with my flesh being stabbed and my warm blood dripping in the cold floor.
I shouldn't have turned right.
If only I didn't want to beat the time Ren gave me.
I wanted to be home by 8:10.
I wanted to tell him I'm safe.
"You're unlucky to be a Samuel. You're pretty."
I slowly kneel down as my strength leaves my body like the red liquid coming out from my stomach and chest.
He took my phone away and my purse as well.
Robbery?
"I did it, Sir. Yes, Sir. You will own the Samuel Company, Sir Jade."
Yes, yes, of course.
It's my cousin.
He wanted to have the company.
I was planning to give it to him anyway.
The world started spinning.
And as my vision goes dark, I felt the same push like before.
Someone's stabbing me again.
But I saw a different person stabbing me.
It's not the guy earlier.
"Bye, bye, Princess."
Princess?
What?
It turned dark again.
I guess I'm sleeping already.
Sleeping forever.
"Ugh.."
Wait, I feel my body but everything is painful.
Especially my stomach and chest.
"What?"
I opened my eyes and sits up.
"What?"
I look around.
"Where... am I?"
I'm in a cabin bedroom.
"What?"
The mirror is placed in front of the bed and I saw myself.
"WHO?"
I stand up, but I suddenly winced with the pain but I still manage to get in front of the mirror.
Long curly brown hair.
Purple eyes.
Pretty face.
But I look quite short and petite.
How old am I here?
This is not me!
But she's pretty.
I look down the floor and there are scattered papers.
There are papers hanging in the wall as well.
Sketches.
These are all sketches.
"She draws?"
I pick a piece of paper and looks at the sketch.
It's a guy.
A handsome guy.
His straight hair is styled angular Fringe with Short Sides.
I wonder what his hair color is.
His piercing eyes look... alone?
What the hell!
This girl can draw!
Even emotions are captured!
He really looks handsome now that I stare at him.
"Princess?"
Someone called out from the door.
I suddenly shook when I look at the sketches scattered on the floor.
It's all this guy's face.
And I somewhat feel like I need to hide it.
I don't know why but I feel something bad is going to happen when I will let the people see this.
I immediately gathered every paper on the floor and hid them under the bed mattress.
I stand up as the woman enters.
Now that I look at their clothes and mine as well.
They look historical.
Like the ones in books.
Victorian style and all.
Did I go back in time?
Suddenly she pointed at me and a blue light came out.
What? A hologramish thing appeared and numbers came out.
"Good! Your temperature went down and you seem fine."
She said with a smile.
She walks towards me and bowed.
"Good morning, Princess Irieliazy Xierienne De Fenuelle."
I woke up as a Princess?
