She gazed at her reflection and touched the large scar on the right side of her cheek. It ran from her left eyebrow to her ear.

The scar felt awful, and it pulsated. Her face from that angle was terrifying. She knew this was out of the ordinary. Her heart beat with the realization that she was now in another world. 

Her memories were scattered, and she did not know the new world she had entered. However, the scar confirmed that she had become an entirely new person. 

Two nights ago, she had been in the hospital, and the subtle hums of the machines seemed to fade away as the night wore on. Then, the following day,  she found herself in the middle of a library, holding a book. 

Chaos ensued right after. She preferred not to think about it since she had embarrassed herself in front of the entire manor. Over the last few days, she had learned her identity and the role she was destined to play. She was part of a side character in the novel and TV series With Love & Passion, I’m Forever Yours. 

She sighed. She had only read the first chapter and seen the first season of the TV series. In reality, she had been attending university until she was hospitalized due to her treatment. She couldn’t remember her name but knew she had a loving family and friends. She loved attending every lecture at her university. She wondered if she could go back home. 

For now, she had to face her new reality. Her name was Anastasia De La Guerra. . She was 22, and her family was a vassal family under Duke Esmeralda. She had previously been engaged, but the engagement ended when she suffered an accident that left her with a scar. After the accident, she suffered from amnesia and was considered to be in poor health. 

“No wonder the servants have been so kind,” she thought.

 She touched the scar once more. She didn’t want to, but she felt self-conscious. The former Anastasia must have felt awful when she got the scar. She had to stop thinking about it, it would damage her plans. 

According to her recollection, one TV series episode mentioned her character. During the ballroom scene, she was in the shadows until the people around her started to mock her because of her scar. The Crown Prince came to her rescue, and the female lead, Sophia Esmeralda, thanked him for being kind to her distant relative. 

Thus, the male and female leads were introduced, and the plot moved forward. After that, the former Anastasia was never heard from again, and the scar's origin was never mentioned. 

In this world she was powerless and the only person who seemed to accept her was the Crown Prince. 

That gave her an idea. She would make him choose her if she could meet the Crown Prince during the ball.
