Looking at this big old house now and not on paper I really wish my parents hadn’t bought it. It was an old 3 story house and it looked like it would fall apart at any moment. It wasn’t exactly an ugly house, it was just old. Really fucking old. Being inside it though was a whole different story, the wall paper was peeling off, and it was a gross flower print so it looked like old grandmas lived in it. Though I guess technically someone's old ass grandma did live in it at one point. Still as much as I didn’t want to be here I want to see how big my room is. I slowly walked up the creaky stairs to the second floor. I looked around and saw my sister glaring at me from her room. I kinda regret fighting with her before getting here. So I flipped her off and walked to the next set of stairs which were somehow more creaky than the last set. I have no idea how I’m supposed to be happy living here. The walls look gross and dead, the stairs are loud as fuck, and the house smells of dust. I already hate this, why does my room have to be on the top floor? Literally the only good thing about being on the very top floor is that no one else’s bedroom is up here so it’s just me. Another good thing would be that if I were to run around or jump up and down no one would hear me which I guess could also be a bad thing because I can’t hear them either. For how old and ugly this house is it’s definitely sound proof. After climbing up the old stairs I immediately saw my bedroom. The door was wide open as if it was inviting me in. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was how ugly the peeling wallpaper was. The color of it was just an ugly shade of emerald green with a white or well what looked to be white floral design on it, but the wallpaper was just browning in some areas. The second thing I noticed was how big the room was. My new room was definitely bigger than the one at my old house. I also have a big walk in closet so that’s nice I guess. Soon enough the room will look smaller that is when I get to put my bed up. Right now we don't have time to put our beds up because we arrived here way later than we planned for. I guess I wasn’t that upset about it. There was a big window in my room facing the forest area behind our house. It was a very beautiful sight and I guess it would make things a little better for me. So I laid my sleeping bag down in the corner of my room next to the door so I could wake up and see outside in the morning. I laid down on my sleeping bag. The dusty hardwood flooring wasn’t exactly the most comfortable to lay on but for one night it’ll do. I was about to drift off to sleep when my mom walked in. She stood there for a second looking at me before just saying goodnight then leaving. I decided to not think about it and just go to bed.
The next morning I woke up to the light from my window shining into my eyes. It was really bright so I covered my face for a second before looking up again. This time it was much less bright and I could properly see. I got up and decided to go down stairs. I opened my door and saw that my mom had brought some of my boxes up the stairs for me. Honestly I felt bad for not bringing them up myself. I decided to open the one containing most of my sweaters and jackets and decided to grab my favorite sage green jacket. I also grabbed my bag before I ran down the stairs. I greeted my family before putting on my plain black converse basic I know but still. I was still wearing the same outfit I was wearing yesterday when we arrived but I didn't mind, these jeans were cute, and I love black tees. But the whole outfit just worked with the green jacket and black converse. Sadly it was already almost noon and I was going to lose daylight soon, but I just needed to explore this beautiful wooded area behind our gross dusty house. So after tying my laces I booked it out the door and made a b-line straight for the woods. When I got to the beginning line of trees I stopped running and just enjoyed all the beauty of the trees and the grass. I loved how peaceful it was out here. I walked a little further into the woods before a little squirrel ran right in front of me. Oddly enough it just sat there on the path and stared at me. It was oddly creepy but cute in a way. After a second of it staring at me it finally ran off and climbed the nearest tree. I shook off the weird feeling I had and continued walking further into the trees. I saw a fallen tree and decided to walk along the log while humming a little tune. I was having a blast. I never thought I would enjoy being in the woods so much. I saw many different kinds of mushrooms. I found the most beautiful flower and decided to pick it and put it in my journal later so that I could always look at it whenever I felt like it. I was pretty far into the woods when it started getting dark. I decided it was time to head back because it was getting fucking creepy. I kept seeing shadows in the corner of my eyes and I felt like I was being watched. With every step I took I got more and more nervous. I pulled out a lighter so that I could have the slightest of light. Sadly the light didn’t make me less scared. It made me afraid that something would show itself in the light. I was shaking so much when I noticed a little twinkle of light fall to the ground. As stupid as it sounds I was curious and decided to look at what it was. I slowly inched closer to the object. It was only when I picked it up that I noticed it was a locket. It was a beautiful silver locket. It looked old and dirty and yet oddly familiar. I was struck with absolute terror when I turned it over to see the back. My name was engraved on it. My full name. I didn’t even want to open it. I was so scared.
