Darting through the trees, Ashley frantically tries to find a path of escape. Her legs are covered in blood, her thoughts are in disarray, and her lungs feel like they’re on fire. She can't hear anything over the sound of her own rapidly beating heart. She shakily stumbles over a mossy log, and crawls over to a large tree, there she tries to lessen her sporadic breathing. As she’s trying to collect herself, her heart suddenly skips a beat as a branch snaps in the distance. Trembling she stands, knowing that she can’t stay here, that she has to find some way, any way, out of this seemingly endless forest. Just as she goes to stand, a hot breath freezes her in place. He was directly behind her, and there was nowhere left to run. She feels his frigid body behind her, and in an instant his arms pull her closer. Before she could even scream his lips were against her neck, soft and cold, only to be replaced by the piercing pain of his teeth penetrating her skin. As her vision fades the moonlight shines on her assailants lifeless brown eyes.
