a forest, mountains full of goods for mining, a stream of clean and fresh water and fields of crops for the entire village to eat and store for the winter.

All was good in the village, no monster was seen near the village in decades.

The people who fought in the wars in the past or encountered monsters have passed from this world in peace.

A villager named Tom Hatol, was hunting in the forest. He was the best

hunter in the village. What made him the best is a strange skill that he had.

Ordinary people of this world are born with a skill, some sort of element manipulation that can evolve into a job skill or jumping ahead to a job skill.

They can move earth or water, control wind or fire or a specific job skill like blacksmithing, But not Tom. he was born with a skill called “Learn”.

No one knew what the skill was so they let him help around where needed.

He noticed that he can do all the things he observed and helped with in the village, in no time. After that he started helping more and more with everything in the village. He became faster, stronger, smarter that even the head of the village asked for advice more than once.

While tom was hunting he noticed something with his newly acquired skill

of “Far Sight” (that allows him sight beyond the “horizon”), a horde of goblins

is about two days away from the village.

Tom was on a tree branch at the top. He jumped up and backward

To a distance of 1 kilometer, then fell to the ground and started to run.

He ran fast at top speed about 200 kilometers an hour, in just a few minutes

he reached the village and blow away some laundry that was hung outside

to dry. He went straight to the chief to tell him about the situation.

He entered the chief house in a storm, that made the chief panic and spill his hot beverage all over his lap. He jumped into the air like he never jumped before, trying to fan down the heat of the beverage.

Tom moved his palm of his right hand slightly and generated a small wind to cool down the chief. The chief relaxed and fell to his chair as a sign of relief.

Tom had a face of minor apologetic expression. He immediately pulled himself together and went forward in front of the chief.

“Chief Rexsios, we have a big problem.“ said Tom

“What could be the problem, that made you burst in like a flame bat out of hellbrom?”

“Goblins, 2 days away, a giant horde of all sort of goblins”

“Is that so?” said the chief in a calm voice before he stood up in a scream

“Goblins?! Why? We’ve never been attacked by any monster or seen one

for over a hundred years.”

Tom leaned over the chief desk while laying his hands roughly on the desk.

“Come down chief, we have about two days to prepare. I’ve got a plan in mind. Just call an emergency meeting of the entire city.”

“O.k.” said the chief in a broken scared voice

“I’ll ring the town bell and I’ll leave it to you. please save this village.”

Tom stood up at attention with a serious look on his face.

“yes sir I will, even if I’ll need to stop them all by myself”

Tom left the chief's office to the town square, which was in front of the town hall where the chief’s office is. the bell started ringing.

As people gathered Tom start feeling the pressure. he took a deep breath

and waited a minute or so.

All the people came and waited for him to speak, he looked at all of his fellow villagers and he opened his mouth to speak.

“Fellow villagers, a horde of goblins is approaching us through the forest. They’ll be here in about two days.” the villagers gasped in fear in harmony.

“I have a plan for defending the village” the villagers again in harmony, breathe a sigh of relief.

“But I need your help to accomplish it.” the villagers gasped in fear in harmony for the third time.

“All the ones with earth skill please stay here. The rest go and get any supplies they will need for at least a week of hiding.” the village stood still looking at Tom.

Tom looked at them back confused.

“You can start now” the villagers emptied the square in seconds, beside the ones with earth skill. .

“I should remember that the villagers need precise orders.”

Tom said to himself.

Tom took the earth skillers around the village and showed them where to raise a wall. two meter wide and four meter tall with only one entrance near the forest, after a long corridor from the wall.

After the wall was raised, he marked a large area near the town hall.

He asked them to dig deep and large enough hole to hide all the villagers

in comfort. They dug up a small entrance and stepped down, then they cleared a large area that can hold all of the villagers including small tunnels that went outside the wall to let air in.

When the earth skillers finished their work, Tom asked the blacksmiths to create large and long spikes, to be positioned at the beginning of the wall corridor so wind skillers could shoot them with wind at the enemy while they entered through the corridor.

After the village was prepared Tom left for the forest.

With his speed he arrived not far from the goblins in a very short time.

He observed them, estimating the time that will take them to reach the village will be about a day and a half. He took a second to breathe deeply.

“O.k. I need to take them out before they even reach the village.”

He said to himself while clutching his hands in a fist, then relaxing them.

He chose a spot with a direct line of sight toward the goblins.

He saw with his skills of “Enemy Search” and “Enemy Analysis” that the goblins are about a 100 or so. Most of them are regular goblins, not as smart or strong as a human therefore they move in a group of about 10.

The big trouble was the “Gobking” (goblin king). He’s bigger, stronger and smarter from any goblin, he commands them. The Gobking had a skill that can help Tom with his traps. '' The Berserk ''. When the Gobking gets mad he can share it to his goblins underling and turn them into berzerker goblins.

They have no mind or care, they become a brainless killing machine which will allow Tom to trap them in death traps.

He started by creating spears from branches with metal tips he made,

using the “processing” skill, he refined iron from the ground which was rich

in iron because of a vain that came from the mine.

He used his “Earth” skill to dig a pit and put all the spears vertically inside.

He covered back with a slim cover of earth, which will crumble with a certain amount of weight on it. Tom placed a lot of improved and adapted hunting traps, which gave him the skill “Trap Master”.

After a few hours all was set, all Tom needed was to get their attention.

He stood inside the forest with a straight line of sight.

He took his bow and pulled the string and arrow and with the hand holding the bow, he used fire magic on the the top finger and shot an arrow

through it to light it on fire.

The arrow flows fast and hits the gobking in the shoulder, straight through the bone and lights his shoulder on fire.

The gobking looked straight at the trajectory of the arrow and saw Tom.

The gobking smiled in a way like he’s saying “that’s all you got?”

Suddenly a small shadow was over the goblins. It was more than a dozen arrows shot one after the other, so fast it looked like they all were shot together.

The gobking got most of the arrow in or around him but still a few goblins were killed. the smile became fury and his eyes showed rage.

Tom saw energy around the gobking. The energy called “Hai” is the energy that creates magic, it is magic. all skills and job skills need hai and the amount you have can grow by practicing.

The gobking energy ripples get larger and larger and denser, until they

enclosed the goblins. they became gobserk, a breserked goblin, they feel no pain they become stronger faster but they are brainless and they do move in groups 10 to compensate for their drop of intelligence.

They swarmed the forest toward Tom, but Tom used his skill “wind Tapping” that allows him to move from point to point in a second, to move behind the hidden pit of spears. One group of gobserk ran through the forest like it’s an empty field and nothing could stop them.

The group came on top of the pit and fell down on the spears and got skewered to death.

A second group came toward the pit and a giant tree log hanging like a swing from the trees swung behind them and pushed the group into the pit.

Tom then took the log down, sharpened one side to a tip. He lifted the log like a throwing spear and with the combination of his strength and “Wind” skill launched the log straight toward the gobking like a giant spear, the log pierced a group of gobserk and the gobking like a skewer into a giant rock. Tom noticed the gobking wasn’t dead yet because all the goblins were still gobserk. Here and there Tom heard the screaming of some of the gobserk falling into his traps but some groups were approaching the village fast.

He jumped and landed on a high branch and started to jump from tree to tree.

He reached the gobserk that is nearing the village, swooped down with his sword and knife, and sliced the gobserk to pieces.

He ran to another group and using “Stealth” skill he got from hunting and killed all the gobserk in mere seconds and then he repeated it with another group and another, until only one group was left and they were at the wall entrance of the village.

He stopped chasing the gobserk and started concentrating, he poured his hai energy to his palms, and started moving his hands in a slashing moves faster and faster until the air around his hands became compressed, he then did a throwing move forward and threw wind blades, that flew fast with a shrieking sound and sliced some of the gobserk, the rest of them were skewered by the metallic spicks the wind skillers in the village threw at them.

Tom used his “Danger Sense“ skill to detect any more goblins in the forest.

He layered it with his “Hai Detection” to see if there are more enemies around and if the gobking is still alive. they won, the village was saved.

Tom stood in the center of the village breathing a sigh of relief.

The villagers surrounded him in admiration and joy, patting him on his shoulder thanking him for saving them.

Tom was happy and smiled a lot, he was very wired and on guard and as the chief approached Tom, to shake his hand, Tom collapsed.

The villagers were scared and called the doctor. The doctor examined him and laughed hard with a silly look on his face.

“He’s fine, just exhausted and he spent all his hai energy, he’s just sleeping.”

The villagers laughed quietly and carried him to his house to rest.

Tom woke up two days later, confused a bit from his surroundings.

He tried to get out of bed but fell to the floor.

He stood up walking in a haze to the bathroom. he washed his face and looked at the mirror. Suddenly he heard a voice in his head.

“Skills updated and reached max, new sub skill and jobs created, new level reached, status increased. a new world system is in place. new levels of hai as reached. total body reboot initiated, divine blessing granted.”

Tom stood still for a minute then collapsed and started glowing.

He floats in the air lit like a divine creature. the light dims out and Tom falls back to the floor.

Tom woke up again an hour later, feeling like he was run over by two “Pardov” (a bull bear).

“What happened? I was standing looking in the mirror heard a voice

in my head then I’m on the floor” as Tom tries to understand what’s going on he hears a ring in his head.

Tom stopped for a moment and thought to himself,

“If this is going to happen again I’ll better go lay on the bed. I don’t know when the last time I cleaned the floor.”

Tom was on the bed and waited for the voice. a floating frame appeared in front of him. he tried to move it several times until he looked like a house cat playing with a ball of yarn. he stopped and he was annoyed.

The frame started to slightly glow and text started to show, letter by letter.

Tom is still confused “what’s going on?”

“Voice activation accepted. good day master, I’m your personal world system assistant -Palis- how may I help you”

“O.k. strange voice in the air, what the hell happened to me?”

“No need to use such words master, I’m here to help you.”

“Sorry”

“O.k., you have achieved new levels and skills that weren't shown in this world for thousands of years. The skill system in this world was changed by unknown factors so people were limited by what path they can go, even if they learned a skill that it’s not part of their skill path, they had a limit and they will not advance in this world. you on the other hand, got a unique skill called Learn which allows you to learn it all. you don’t have a skill path. After all you did in the last few days you reached new heights. your going to be one of the strongest people in this world”

Tom was petrified, he couldn’t wrap his mind around the news.

“master, you can see your own status on of others by using your new -Analyze Eye- skill, just think of the skill and it will activate”

“O.k., -Analyze Eye- “

The floating frame became longer and all of Tom info appeared.

“What does that all mean?”

“It shows your your stats out of the average reguiler people of this world”

“If that’s true all my stats are more than 50 times larger than the average person, and I can become stronger?“

“Yes, the more experience you gain, the stronger opponents you’ll have, the stronger you’ll get.”

“There’s two things I don’t understand -Sage- and -Mao Meow-”

“The Sage is a class, after you master a job like -Swordsman-, it becomes your class. In your case, you have so many jobs and skills, that a new class was created -Sage-, someone that learned a lot.”

“What about -Mao Meow-?”

“That’s a title, a way to describe your achievements. a swordsman will get a title that will fit the fighting style, like -Blade Tornado- or -Blade Dancer-.

Your title is an old one, of a hero of the non human. The Devil’s Yell”

“So am I a hero of the non humans?”

“You’re getting there”

“I have a question for you?”

“Yes master, all my knowledge is yours”

“Can I teach the villagers how to do things out of their skill path? and if so will it affect me in some way?

“You could try to teach them but even if they’ll master it, as much as I know it won’t appear in their skill path, but other then that no one tried it ever so I don’t have any information”

“So this is all new to you, meaning a lot can happen or change?”

“Yes”

“Well, let's do some experiments with skills and the -Analyze Eye- “

“What are you planning?”

“You’ll see” tom went to change his clothes and went out of the house,

the floating frame followed him.
