The ones who are diagnosed, known as metapsychos, are legally mandated to take daily injections to suppress their feelings. Two telekinetic cops discover their illegal romantic partnership cures the disease but the gravity of the situation puts them in constant fear of getting caught until an unimaginable incident separates them.
