Venice was this magical, romantic place I have always been sure that someday in a far, far away future, I would be able to visit. I had dreamed about eating pasta by the river, travel in the gondolas with the moonlight over my head, and maybe, just maybe, even finding a cute Italian that would confess to me in that beautiful and romantic language, and guide me through the mysterious passages of that old and mysterious city.
What I wasn’t expecting at all was to be kidnapped.
“Are you sure we can’t touch her? Not even for a moment?” The lascivious comment came from one of the men that were guarding me, the big, bulky one.
Both my hands and feet were tied, so I had nothing to protect me in case he decided to stop roaming my body with his eyes, and start roaming it with his hands. I gulped, and could feel myself getting paler. At least I could have chosen to wear pants that day, then I would have felt safer! But no, of course I was wearing a dress.
“No, let the boss do whatever he wants with her first. Then we will see if he gives us the leftovers” the other man smirked, looking at my scared face with his malicious eyes.
This man was smaller, yet he was the one that scared me the most. There was something diabolic in that calm, low voice he had, and in that indifferent sense of loyalty towards this mysterious boss they were always talking about. And he also had those hands, full of hideous scars, a proof that he was not someone you should be messing with.
I couldn’t stop myself from wondering how had I gotten myself into all this mess. I guess it all started on Venice, the same day I arrived to the islands, an innocent girl just wishing to have a good time with her friend.
Yes, it all started that day.
