Addison sighs, pushing her cup across the bar. For some reason, she had let a friend convince her to go out and enjoy the weekend. Instead, Addison had just ended up being ditched when her so-called friend went off with some guy. “Some friend,” Addison sighs, throwing a twenty on the bar before turning to leave, instead bumping into a figure. “Sorry,” Addison mumbles, brushing herself off.
“It's fine,” Addison froze under the gaze of the man in front of her. The man stood tall with Emerald Green eyes and auburn hair.
Addison groans at the memory of the man, she wishes she had never met him, even more, that she hasn't gone home with him and…
A brisk knock on the bathroom door jolted Addison back to reality with a small squeak, “You almost done?” her roommate mumbles through the door, her voice gentle as if she knows.
“What?” Addison asks her head whirling around to look for her phone, how long had she been sitting there?
“Are you almost done?” her roommate repeats.
“Ye-yeah!” Addison yells, a tremble in her voice as she grabs her phone off the sink. She pulls the door open forgetting the pregnancy test on the sink as she rushes out of the bathroom nearly knocking her roommate over.
“Are you…okay?” the woman trails off with a sigh as the front door closes behind Addison. “Guess not,” she mumbles, sauntering half-asleep into the bathroom before clumsily pushing the door closed knocking something off the sink in the process, “Fuck,” she sighs before bending over to grab the object, freezing mid-grab as her sleep-deprived brain process just what the object is. “Shit,” she sighs holding the pregnancy test up.
“Hey Ren, how’re your classes going?” Mrs. Campbell asks her back still turned to Ren.
“Uh…I don't know,” Ren sighs, not even slightly alarmed at the woman’s sixth sense far too used to it.
“Why’s that-” Mrs. Campbell stutters, freezing mid-turn, “Ren…are those pregnancy tests?” Ren nods watching as the older woman straightens, “I thought you were…”
“I am, they’re not for me,” Ren smiles awkwardly.
“Are you okay?” Mrs. Campbell asks, picking up one of the boxes of pregnancy tests.
“Yeah, just helping someone out,” Ren nods, beginning to bend and unbend her knees anxiously.
“Are they okay?” Mrs. Campbell asks, beginning to ring up the tests, watching as Ren shrugs, “You’ll come to me if you need any help?”
“I promise,” Ren smiled reassuringly, hoping her anxiety wasn't showing in her smile.
Addison groans as she steps inside, the chill in the winter air following her. She barely notices Ren sitting on the couch, “Hey,” Ren mumbles her eyes glued to the TV.
“Hey,” Addison smiles, it's not often she gets to see her roommate with Ren working nights but when she does she enjoys it, Addison frowns at the thought, why wasn’t Ren at work? “Ren?” Addison asks cautiously approaching the couch.
“Yeah?” Ren asks her eyes finally leaving the TV to catch Addison’s.
“Why aren't you at work?” Addison rushes over, playing her palm over Ren’s forehead, “Are you sick?” Addison asks with concern, remembering the last time Ren missed a shift was because she caught a cold and was miserable, Ren would refuse to admit to that instead stating it was unsanitary to bartend while having a cold.
“No,” Ren mumbles, her eyes glazed over as she stares up at Addison, “I got you something,” Ren points to the small dining room table sitting in the middle of their kitchen/living room/dining room.
Addison smiles sauntering over toward the table, “Is there a reason for such an impromptu gift?”
“The test I found on the sink,” Ren says dryly, a hint of anxiety seeping into her voice. Addison trembles, unable to move, “T-test?”
