It was a rainy morning, the sky was covered in gray, and I was on the bus dozing off. Every few minutes the bus would stop and people would come on, business people, high schoolers, old people etc. It was just a normal morning until.
“Hi” a smiling man said to me.
“Hi?” I said back in confusion.
He sat down next to me, putting his violet backpack on the ground. He had light gray eyes, pale skin, yellow hair like a dandelion, and his lips pink as a peach. Not only that, but he was handsome, as handsome that you couldn’t keep your eyes off of him.
“Hey?” He said getting my attention.
“What” I didn’t hear what he said before because my heart was beating so loud.
“I asked what major are you in? I’ve seen you around campus.”
“Oh-um criminology.”
”Ah a cop?” He asked with interest.
”Detective.” I looked away from him because I didn’t want him to see me blushing. ”and you?”
He chuckled , I saw him smile from the window reflection, it was so soft. “Fashion.”
”Designer?”
“Yeah and modeling.” He looked at me. “Ricky.” He held out his hand.
”Quin” I shook his hand, at that time my heart was beating so fast that I thought it was love
Every morning after that, he would sit right next to me on the bus and talk about random stuff. At first, it was small talk, and then we talked about our common interest. Every bus ride we got closer and closer, I couldn’t wait for the next morning to arrive, so he could sit right next to me.
“Hey.” He sat down next to me, handsome as always. “What are you doing this Friday night?” He smiled.
”N-nothing, why?” 'Is he going to ask me out?' I thought.
“Well” he leaned in closer, “I got these tickets to see this movie, I was wondering if you want to come.”
I don’t know how red my face got, but I could tell it was redder than a strawberry because of how hot my face was.
“Are you ok?” He put the back of his hand on my forehead, “your face is red.”
”I’m-I’m fine.” I said fast. “I would love to come with you.”
He leaned back and rested his head on the seat. “Ok”
The rest of the bus ride, we talked about the movie that we were going to see and our college assignments.
When Friday came up, I was so excited that I was overthinking all night on Thursday, that led me too sleep in and missed the bus the next morning. But no matter, I went to the cinema an hour early because of the excitement. I waited and waited for him, I don’t know how long, but the streets were empty when I gave up and left.
Saturday and Sunday went by, Monday hit, I can’t deny that I didn’t cry those days. The bus was quite, as usual people came, and people left the bus. As I sat there, my head in the clouds, staring out of the window.
”Hey, hey, hey.”
I turned and saw him, he looked exhausted, breathing hard, he had bags under his eyes, and sweat on his forehead. It looked like he was running.
“What did you become deaf over the weekend.” He sat down.
I didn’t respond and turned my head to the window.
“I’m sorry.” He sighed loudly. “I couldn’t make it to the movies, I really wanted to, but-“
”But what!” I said out loud, he could tell I was pissed with my tone.
“I had an assignment to finish that was due that night. My partner didn’t do their part, and so I had to do it before the due date. I was going to tell you on Friday on the bus, but you weren’t there. So I tried to find you on the campus, but I couldn’t find you. And I didn’t have your phone number, so-“
“It’s ok.” I smiled at him.
”Really.” He softly sighed like he was out of breath. “That’s good, we can make plans next time.”
”Yeah.”
He smiled and then put he’s head on my shoulder. “I’m so tired.” He chuckled and closed his eyes.
My heart seemed like it was going to burst, as I could see the top of his head, his long blonde eyelashes, he’s pink lips that I want to kiss so badly. A few minutes passed, I could hear his breathing slow down. I just sat there staring at his lips, I slowly got close to them with mine, every inch closer and closer. Until his and mine touched, his lips were soft, and not too dry, it was nice. And then he opened his eyes and pushed me away. His eyes were wide in shock, he stood up. I kept on saying I was sorry, and I shouldn’t have kissed you, but he wouldn’t listen to me. He took his backpack and got off the bus quickly, while I was pleading for him for his forgiveness. However, all I could do is watch him from the bus window while the bus drove away, leaving him behind.
Is it that hard to bodyguard for a super model that is a gold digger for a rich old man’s wife that is sleeping with him. So the wife hires me to protect him from her husband that is trying to kill him. I took the job without knowing who the super model is. And later on I found out he’s my pass crush that rejected me harshly. If I’m being honest it’s not that hard at all, if you don’t count him constantly flirting with me.
