After three years and two summers in Ba Sing Se, Dyx decided to return to Republic City. He was aware that his stay in the earth kingdom wasn't going to last long, but it was nice while it lasted even though he never liked the rules. He missed the city in all aspects so returning there was quite joyful for him, specially the thought of seeing someone for the first time in a long time. Korra and Dyx had been in contact ever since they met but when Dyx moved out of the city, they haven't had the chance to see each other again as they were occupied with their own things by that time.
It was the last week of summer and it was the perfect chance to plan a quick meet up with Korra so he grabbed his phone and called her. Few seconds later, he finally heard her voice. "Was starting to get worried about you, Braids" Korra said on the other line. "You shouldn't be, I know how to defend myself" Dyx said with a chuckle "After three long years in the earth kingdom, I've decided to come back to the city and I want to see you. Are you free?" He asked.
"What kind of question is that? You know so wouldn't turn down the opportunity to see you, specially when I haven't seen you in a long time" Korra responded excitedly "You wouldn't mind if I bring someone with me, right?" Korra asked nervously. "Hmm, Why would I? I don't seem any problem with that" Dyx responded "But would you mind tell me who it is?" He asked quite curious. "I rather tell you in person than over the phone" Korra simply said in return. "Alright then..." He paused for a moment "Meet me at Narook's, I haven't eaten anything since this morning and I'm craving for some seaweed noodles" He commented. After settling their meet up, Dyx went to Narook's and waited for Korra there.
Three bowls of noodles later, Korra arrived along with a gorgeous girl who was standing next to her. The blonde guy stood up and gave Korra a tight hug. "I really missed you, K" Dyx said letting go of the dark skin girl then turned his sight towards the raven girl "And who might she be?" He asked Korra as he greeted the girl cause it would be rude from him if he didn't. "She's Asami, my girlfriend" Korra responded and suddenly the semblance of Dyx face changed.
"I'm sorry your what?" The blonde guy said quite shocked. "Yeah, I knew you were gonna react like that" Korra said scratching the back of her neck. "Excuse me, but how the hell you want me to react? You didn't told me you had a girlfriend nor even mentioned me about your romantic life!" Dyx said startled "You better tell me all the things I've missed during all this time cause I can't stand being let out of the equation like this" He stated crossing his arms. "Relax, I'm willing to do that my dear Braids" Korra said with a chuckle calming him down.
Korra explained how everything between her and Asami started. After long minutes of story telling/tea spilling, Dyx looked at both girls then focused his sight on Korra "Let me get this straight, you met a year after I got expelled?" Dyx asked quirking and Asami's face quickly changed and looked at the dark skin girl "Korra you never told me he got expelled" the raven girl saiid slightly furrowing her eyebrows at her girlfriend.
"Relax emerald eyes, my life ain't that interesting to be told by others" the blonde guy said waving his hand a bit "Besides, she never told me when to two started dating" He added defending Korra who was niw stuck in a difficult situation. "I still missed such information" Asami said crossing her arms. "Looks like someone likes to get some tea spilled" Dyx said resting his chin on his hand "Very well, it's my turn to do some story telling" He added and cleared his throat before narrating his story.
-Flashback-
Dyx POV
I had three strikes for bad behavior by that time, which two of them were a sacrifice to save Korra's ass from getting in trouble with her parents. Everything was normal, bla bla bla and we end up getting caught in a water balloon fight that I don't even know who the hell started it but Korra dragged me into it, like she always did in the short time we've been together. To add to the mux of my tragedy, I accidentally splashed the principal.
General POV
"Dyx, you bent the water out of the janitor's bucket" Korra mentioned laughing at the memory and Asami couldn't help but to smile at the thought of it. "For the record, I was to throw that to someone else" Dyx pointed out "And thank you for reminding me such a horrific detail, K" He said in a sarcastic tone as he disliked the sudden interruption. Dyx took a deep breath before continuing with the story. "As I were saying..."
Dyx POV
"Young man I had it with you!" The principal yelled at me clearly irritated about the whole situation. Korra was there with me as we were the only one who got caught, the rest of the students had scattered when the principal came through before I did what I did. "I am truly sorry, I promise that-" "Promise what? That it won't happen again? That's exactly the same thing you've been saying over and over again!" She yelled at me once again then took a deep breath to calm down a bit "Who started all that madness?" She asked looking at Korra then turned her sight back at me.
I genuinely didn't knew who started, it but I wasn't gonna say that I got dragged into it and blame all the other students. I wasn't gonna say that Korra dragged me into it either, I rather be on detention or suspended than being known for being a snitch, after all, I was the one who took it too far so basically all the weight goes on me and the least I could do was take responsibility from that part. "I did, I started the water balloon fight" And with those words being said, I got ready to face my punishment...
General POV
"Then the principal expelled me and I told my parents about it. A few days later they decided to move to Ba Sing Se, yada yada yada, here we are now" Dyx concluded. "Wow, you really suck at telling stories" Korra said laughing. "You ain't that good at that either!" The blonde guy said crossing his arms. "It was a funny story, Dyx" Asami commented "I think it was a better idea hear it from you than hear it from Korra" She added. "We share the same track of thought there emerald eyes" Dyx said with a smile "She's terrible in that though, she either skip details or insults me" He added making gestures with his hands.
"Hey!" The dark skin girl protested. "You know it's true K, don't fucking make me remind you how many times times you did that" Dyx said sternly. "Do you two always argue like that?" The raven girl asked slightly concerned. "Don't worry, this ain't a big discussion" Dyx responded "We used to end up throwing hands but this ain't the case, don't worry" He added. "Holy spirits" Asami said laughing a bit. "I'm starting to like your girlfried K," Dyx commented leaning back on his seat.
"Easy there Braids, she's with me" Korra said placing her arm over Asami's shoulder. "Relax, I would never lay my eyes on a taken woman specially if she's with my partner in crime" Dyx pointed out "I would probably steal it from you for some hangouts and such but nothing more than that" He added with a smile clearly happy about the two of them even though she met Asami a few minutes ago. "That's... Kinda poetic" Korra commented. "I'm always poetic, you know that" The blinde guy said in return "She's nicer than I thought she would be" He mentioned. "And how you thought I was going to be?" The raven girl asked curiously. Dyx didn't wanted to end up throwing hands with Korra and ruin the evening by speaking his mind out cause he would drop some offensive words of he did so. "... A complete different person! Please don't ask for details 'cause I suck at giving them and it would be if I tried" He kinda lied there but the least thing he wanted was being too honest with her 'cause it would turn bad. "I wasn't going to, I don't need them anyways" Asami said with a giggle.
After dinner and a conversation that lasted hours, each one of them returned to their respective homes. When Dyx arrived to his apartment, he received a call from Opal. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and looked at the caller ID for a long moment. He let out a sigh as he was tired but not answering Opal's calls is worst than a death sentence "Hi Opal" He said hiding his tiredness.
"Care to explain why you haven't called me all day?" Opal said in what it seems to be a jealous tone. "I was with an old friend- Hold on a sec, are you... Jealous?" The blinde guy teased. "Dyxie! Stop saying nonsense!" She said irritated. "Wow, you never called me Dyxie in a while" He said laughing a bit "How's everything in Zaofu anyways?" He asked.
Opal took a deep breath as the blue eyed guy changed the subject "Everything is fine here, mom misses you" Opal said now in a more calmed tone. "Tell her I send her a hug and that I'll be there next summer" He said in return "May I know the motive of your call? 'Cause you never mentioned it. Was it because you miss me that bad?" Dyx teased again. "Dyxie!" Opal pouted at his comment. Long minutes later, the call was finally over and Dyx could finally go to sleep peacefully.
