Today was like any other day, quiet and uneventful. I worked on everything that needed working on, and cleaned everything that needed to be cleaned. Sometimes on days like this, I just sit down and play a game or see what's on the news. This time I chose the latter. I turned on the t.v. and started flipping through the news channels. Each station was debating policies, political figures, and the such. On the local stations, they were showing the weather, and discussing traffic jams. Nothing too important..
However, news anchor Sean Rograr did catch my interest when he mentioned a upcoming story about documented paranormal anomalies at the old lighthouse by the lake. I remember hearing stories about how the nearby lake use to be shrouded in thick layers of fog. Of course back then, when the lighthouse was built, was back when old fashioned sailing vessels were around. The strangest part of all of it is that there were no harmful obstacles like rock formations anywhere through the entire lake; yet shipwrecks have been discovered in mass quantities without knowledge of what actually caused it... Of course, it wasn't until the fog cleared out did anyone discover all this. Legend has it that whatever took hold of the lake was pushed out by the light, creating a "feud" between the lighthouse and whatever the fog was. There are a lot of theories among the locals and when Alca Corp Scientists set up shop there, that didn't help die down the attention.
Although, I can't help but to think that Alca might have a part in all this. Time passed, and hearing story after story started to make me fall asleep. That is what happened, well from my knowledge of being woken up startled by the loud sounds of panic coming from the t.v.
BREAKING NEWS: SKY ANOMALY ABOVE ALCA CORP OUTPOST
Alca authorities were evacuating people from the premises while men in strange military like apparel unlike that I've ever seen before were exiting the main research center holding up their guns as though they were taking aim at the crowd. However, their attention was diverted to the rift soon after. What was going on?
"Over there, Over there! Look, Look!" said what sounded to be a small child but could be barely heard over all the commotion. The child must have been heard since the camera man turned the camera to the lake. A thick fog began to roll in. The legends were true... A loud hum began to echo and before I knew it, out of the corner of my eye I could see what looked like a tear ripping through my wall. I could hear that loud hum like the one on t.v., but louder. This lasted only a moment though before it turned into this relaxing melodic tune. My fear became memory as I was seduced by this unknown. Before any other thought, I could feel myself being pulled into the rift; and that's what exactly happened. It was complete darkness, I could not tell if I were awake or had lost consciousness due to being aware of what was happening and feeling an aura surrounding my body. The whole experience was weird because I could feel movement, but it also felt like I was at a standstill. I do not know how long I went through this, but it did come to an end when I found myself face down on some grass.
"Where did he come from? Who is that? He looks so strange." I could hear various remarks like that coming from all around me from both men and women. I turned over so I could hopefully know where I was but before I could, I heard a male voice right next to me as they were helping me up.
"Are you ok friend?" the male voice asked.
"I think so. What....." I took a long pause from my last work, never actually finishing the sentence. The guy helping me was a...furry. An anthro-wolf with grey fur, a slight muscular build, with distinct yellow colored eyes. "Furries are real?" I asked with a hesitant tone and especially now regretting blurting that out. Luckily enough, he didn't take any offence to it. Instead he let out a chuckle.
"Just as real as you are." he chuckled some more. "To be honest with you my friend, I didn't think your kind was real either. Here lets get you to the castle, I think the king Zarok and Dellor would be interested in meeting you." Before I could respond, a couple armored guards arrived in a hurry but my new friend sent them off easing their minds that he had the situation under control. "You're lucky that you landed here."
"Where is here?" I asked.
"Well right now we are in the Egril's Garden. It's open to the public but mostly those who work and reside in the castle visit here since it is close to the castle. Here come on. " He said before starting to walk away. Of course I followed. "This garden has a lot of different flora but none of this would have been possible without Egril. She was the one who got this garden to its current state. However, she passed only a few years ago from old age, bless her soul." he stated with a sense of pride along with honoring the peaceful nature of this place. "Anyway, I'm Tartavian, head of the Royal Army. My friends call me Tar for short." he said holding his hand out to me.
"I'm Keith" I respond shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you, and thanks for helping me out."
"Not a problem. It's funny, my mentor was also named Keith. Although, you said more than he ever did," He chuckled. "What he lacked in social abilities, he sure knew how to fight. He was a good man up to the very end even though he seemed really tough." I didn't know how to respond but luckily he diverted our attention to the castle. "Just a bit further and we'll be at the entrance." he said almost enthusiastically. About five minutes later we arrived to the castle doors which opened upon sight of Tar and me. We passed through the large wooden doors, entering the majestic palace. The banquet hall that stood before us was vibrant with colorful decorations and relics. The long tables also wooden, with carvings that seemed to resemble different animals and beasts. All so intricately detailed too. There were dozens of chairs made from the same wood. There sat at the back of all this was what I assumed to be the King's dining throne carved from a wood darker than the tables and other seating. It was more distinct due to it possessing rune like carvings.
"Over there is the King's private throne room, he must be in there." Tar said as he pointed to a set of doors at the edge of the room. As we walked over to them, Tar began to speak. "You might notice how empty the hall is; that's because the castle is magically secured allowing only approved guests in. Mainly the castle is for meetings and such with authoritative leaders and such. Only the King's close circle of people are allowed in his private throne room. Luckily, I'm one of those people." he stated with the same pride he displayed before. We arrived to the doors which we opened, leading us to a small room where at first glance you would see a jade colored throne. The room itself seemed plain in comparison to the main hall. There, were two men. One, a forest green colored anthro-wolf wearing a set of light armor decorated with runes, whereas the other was a shorter gentleman who also was a anthro-wolf that possessed white fur but looked older. He wore royal garbs, and from that I can assume he was the king.
"I'm just saying it would be more enjoyable if Monito cooked in the main hall once in a while." said the royal garb wearing furry.
" I would agree Zarok, but remember the last time we did, you almost caught on fire walking past the cooking area." said the green fur wolf.
"YOU KNOW VERY WELL THAT CHAIR STUCK OUT TOO FAR DELLOR!" Zarok responded.
"I understand sir, my apologies. I'll look into some way to contain and minimize any accidents in case we want to try this again."
"Do you two ever do anything serious when you work together?" Tar interjected poking fun at their expense.
"Master Tar, good to see you!" Zarok said in delight. "Who is this interesting specimen?" he followed up to his greeting.
"This is Keith, he's a..." he was interrupted
"Human!" Dellor responded as he came over looking me over. "You're from the prophecy."
"What prophecy?" I asked feeling slightly confused between this news and him looking at me like he was with his dark brown eyes.
"My apologies." he said regaining his calm composure then shaking my hand. "My name is Dellor, the King's head scholar, mage, and voice of reason.. for more than one reason. Over there is King Zarok, ruler of Moltasia." he said as the Zarok came over to shake my hand.
"You can call me Zarok" he said with a smile, shaking my hand, with his amethyst colored eyes lighting up like a child making a new discovery.
"Honored to meet you your majesty. What was this about a prophecy?" I reiterated.
"Right! Well there is an ancient prophecy that was written during a time when a ancient species roamed our realm, well when they were around. They were god like beings born to help those in need. Of course, this was who we believed helped our ancestors survival on this world when it was later cleansed from Shilora's dark forces. Shilora, the goddess of darkness and conquest was angered by this, so in shortest terms, she devised a plan using her army which wiped out this ancient race. From that day, the gods have attempted to find a way to create a new race like that from before. The goddess of rebirth and dreams Kaia, and Olark, god of the dead for a long time refused to allow this new beginning halting the plans the other gods had to contain Shilora's forces." Dellor was saying before I interrupted.
"Kaia? I know her! She is a wolf like you but she had black fur with crimson spots. She was in dreams or whatever they were because they felt so real." I stated.
"That is her for sure and what she showed you was real, just you were where she resides. However, no one has ever been there, even the other gods never set foot there. What happened when you were there?" Dellor asked curiously.
"Well we talked... and ummm had.. relations." I said stumbling with that last part. I could see out of the corner of my eye Tar smirking and in front of me Zarok smiling.
"Good show my boy! Getting close to divinity I see." he said with much delight while wrapping his arm around my shoulders like good friends would. "So is it true then Dellor?"
"Well.. yes, he is the Chosen. Only through having sex with Kaia would allow for this rebirth to go through. Now that has happened, the gods will try to push away the darkness as I mentioned, and possibly more dangers will come now that Shilora is most likely aware of your presence like the other gods. However, we will worry about that later. For now, we must tell you your role in all this." said Dellor.
I looked at him curiously.
"Since you have not only had relations with Kaia, the most innocent of the gods, you were also the first to ever to do it with her." he said before being interrupted.
"Not only did you do it with her, you were her first! Good job lad, this is stuff of legends." the king said jokingly while Dellor looked at him with a blank stare. "My apologies, continue."
"Anyway." Dellor began again. "From this action you both did, you not only enabled the prophecy, but you became her mate. Secondly, from this, you will soon become the father of her child." I looked at him with a surprised look. "I know, this is a lot to take in but this is how it happens. The only way this rift you came through occurs is if you impregnated her, giving you the blessing to be in our world. There is more to how this works but that's beside the point at the moment. What matters is what will be done. You will sire many children that will be like that ancient god race called the Celnoir. However, unlike them, you will father them all by mating with the women not only in our world but throughout the this existence. Even the possibility of mating with wild creatures will be needed to do this. You, Keith, were brought here to breed."
A moment of silence echoed through the room before it was broken by Dellor once more.
"Your majesty, Keith will need sleeping arrangements and I will need lots of parchment for documentation of his future offspring. The other details we will work out later. For now, Keith needs some rest and something to eat. This travel, and this news must have drained him."
"Well let's get to it then!" Zarok replied. "Tar, show Keith to that small cabin near the edge of the castle grounds on the northeast side, by that river and woods." Tar nodded and went outside the room waiting for me to follow. "I will have some food brought to you in a bit. You'll love this cabin. It's made of the same pale wood from the woods you'll see. Its very spacious with a nice fireplace, bed, tub, washing basin, and plumbing for.. you know." Zarok mentioned. I was surprised that they have plumbing for toilets and such especially with this medieval like setting. Can't complain though. "Go now and get some rest, you have a lot of important work to do." he said with a smile. I nodded and met up with Tar where we both went to not only my new home, but the start of my journey.
