Description
The Tobu civilization has lasted for more than 3,000 years. It relies on a rigid social hierarchy to survive, and a strict oppression of the men and lower classes. The torch of this ancient culture is now being passed onto the next generation: an empress, a priestess, a soldier, a merchant, and slave. The streets of the capitol city, Isitotem are ground zero for political unrest as a mysterious cult discover archaic, forbidden secrets and a dangerous group of revolutionaries search for justice.
The young and impressionable girls Empress Setenet and Arch-preistess Apui rise to power, eager to make life better for their citizens. But will their reformist ideals drown among the traditionalist dogma and luxury of the upper class?
Cousin to the Empress, Prince Saisummunu, and the social-climbing merchant Sento Sar were born on the unlucky side of society. Prince Sausimmunu was sure that as soon as he was old enough he would be shipped off as a gift to some rich woman, but now his cousin has given him an opportunity to become a soldier. Sento’s family was born into poverty but has now, under mysterious circumstances, hit it rich. They both must overcome a society that a much different plan for their lives.
